Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a park across the street; all of the great restaurants, inns, and Bay Street (water front) are only a few blocks away. Horse & carriage tours are about a 4 block walk away.

Very people friendly

The Historic Holiday Inn was a great hotel. The rooms had all the comfots of being at home. The location of the hotel was great. We were in walking distance of all of downtown. There were lots of good restaurants very close to the hotel. All in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Historic Holiday Inn.

exceptional staff

This hotel more than met our expectations. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. We took two tours recommended by the concierge and were extremely pleased with both. His dining suggestions also were excellent. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We watched the friday night fireworks from the balcony off our room and met some very nice guests of the hotel while sitting in the rockers on the front porch. Would certainly stay here again when in Charleston.

Good Value, Good Location

Easy to get to, good staff, nice room, in-town location so it is close to everything, good conceirge -- but a little judgemental -- dining not great but they do a nice breakfast and there are plenty of restaurants close enough to walk to.

Hank's Seaford is just great -- not touristy and really good food. Try Hank's -- getting there is easy and there is ample municipal parking at the end of the street

Outstanding

Holiday Inn, Historic District, on Calhoun Street Stayed there for 8 days. could not have asked for anything more in the way of comfort, service or value. From the concierge, hotel wait staff, everything was the best. Hundreds of Hotels and motels in the Charleston area. All close or closer to the Historic district, but this was the best experience I have had.

excellent concierge

the concierge folks were what made our vacation so great. They were so knowledgable, worked so hard, listned to what we like and dislike and then set us up with walking tours restaurants and other assorted ideas that met what we woulsd enjoy. I will reccommend this hotel due to them and the other friendly staff members. It is on the fringe of the Historic district and the long walks to hitoric sites and buildings is what we liked. This Holiday in was neat and clean, had a small pool, basic small workout room etc. we enjoyed it.
