The pier at Mt. Pleasant is a great place to visit. It costs $0.50 per hour to park and you can fish there all day.

By the elevator service room
This business trip went by quickly with a comfortable bed and a good breakfast. The biggest downside was the size of the room and bathroom and it's location next to the elevator service room. Every time the elevator was used there was a lot a screeching, groans and mechanical noise as it struggled in the loudest way. Luckily I was very tired and slept through most of it.

Great Value
We booked late and on a holiday weekend and still got a great deal. I am extremely picky about hotels and I definitely think this hotel deserves more than 2 stars. The room is small, but the recent renovations are modern and I felt very comfortable. The continental breakfast is one of the best I've seen in recent years. Location is also a bonus - we walked to the market area during the day and took a cab back at night (only $7). Parking was never an issue.

Nothing Special
The only positive thing about this hotel is the location. We were given a smoking room, which I did not request, and it was awful. Not only did it stink of smoke but also mothballs. The hotel "did not" have availability for a non-smoking room and would not refund us our money so we were forced to stay. The smell was so bad we were forced to buy 2 bottles of Febreeze, a humidifier, and some scented oils.

Terrific staff, great value
This hotel has the best value in downtown Charleston considering its proximity to the center of downtown (bars and restaurants). I was able to stay close to the nightlife without busting my wallet (and no complaints about the rooms). Also, very helpful staff at front desk.

could be nicer
Hotel was very dated and had construction going on on the floor we were staying, however it was not mentioned to us when we checked in. The hallway was blocked with rolls of carpet and we couldn't get the cart by, so we had to leave it and make several trips. Staff was nice and location was good, but on busy highway.
