The Charleston Place on 30th Anniversary
When we made our reservations, we informed The Charleston Place it would be our 30th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival they assigned us to a balcony room overlooking the old Market, and later that evening, sent up a bottle of champagne and chocolate cake. The room, cleanliness, access to the historic district simply could not have been better. We would return to this hotel again happily.

Enjoyable luxury and great service!
We came for a couple of days of a family holiday. We all enjoyed the stay with the great pool, gym, fantastic restaurant and all the trimmings and excellent service able to help you find anything you want. And everywhere is the smell of Charleston pumped out through the air conditioning! So everyone was happy. My daughter decide not to join us the restaurant. The best evening of her holiday was enjoying room service in the luxurious room! The only gripe was that the wireless internet signal only worked near the door not in the main part of the room.

Southern hospitality and elegance in a Charleston hotel
This hotel is magnificent and represents charm, gentility, hospitality extraordinare. I love this hotel. Would have liked to have had better selection of eggs on Club floor. Hardboiled isn't enough of a choice. Perhaps scrambled or poached with some bacon or sausage? Staff on club floor nice, helpful as they can be and interested in the guests without being nosey.

Honeymoon Vacation at Charleston Place Hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They could answer any questions about any attractions in and around Charleston. I would only stay at this hotel if you stay on the Club Level and get a good rate online. The Place is very expensive otherwise. The Club level serves breakfast and other h'orderves/appetizers all day long. At night, bar drinks are complimentary and they do not skimp! If Daniel is bar tending, get a margarita. Seriously good stuff.

Don't fall into any tourist traps by eating at places like Hyman's or Bubba Gump's. Three restaurants you must visit are Jestine's Kitchen, Toast, and Bocci's. Order local fare such as grits or seafood and prepare for the flavor explosion.

Family Weekend
Loved the location but was disappointed with the overall accomodations. I had reserved a King bed but was told there were none available after we go to our room. The air was out in our room and it took several calls before it was ever repaired. Had an infant in our family and the staff/management was not infant-friendly. They charged us to use a microwave for bottles.

First day disappointment won"t be back
When we checked in to Charleston Place there was a convention on the property, so instead of the junior Suite we paid for ($370), they gave us a "extra large king" and called it a junior suite. With windows were facing an ongoing Party on the patio, on the same level as well as people with cocktails in the hallway. They moved us to another same type room. But it did not have a sleeper sofa for our daughter, and no rollaway beds were available. They moved us the next day to a Junior Suite. But because we booked thru orbitz we received no compensation at all and the manager pointed out our choice to book thru orbitz as the reason they could not give us a credit. We have stayed here more than 5 times before, after this I will be looking for another hotel.
