Great Hotel and Central Location

I always enjoy Charleston Place - it's centrally located and has all of the amenities that you would expect. One item to note though, is that they're doing extensive renovations all about the hotel. While a lot of the loud work seems to be saved for mid-day, once the power tools go on, you can hear the vibration throughout the hotel. If you're out and about during this time, hopefully it would not be a problem.

Belmond hotel

Great lobby, great service, wonderful staff and fab location. Unfortunately air conditioning units make you feel like there is a jackhammer in the room. We switched once and got a second room that had only major drone. Otherwise great hotel.

Beautifully Convenient

The Charleston Place is located in the heart of downtown and opens up to the marketplace. If you are in Charleston to see the sites, there really isn't a more convenient option. The staff are incredibly courteous and prompt and make you feel like you are a valued customer throughout your stay. The rooms are beautiful, especially our newly remodeled one on the 6th floor and nearly everything was perfect. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a bottle of champagne and a delicious flour-less chocolate cake for our anniversary. The stay was not cheap, but we would absolutely do it again. The experience was well worth the cost. My only complaint was that the room A/C was incredibly loud and distracting at times. Maintenance attended to the issue and did their best to minimize the noise, but it was still very loud. Otherwise the room was perfect.

Excellent for a long weekend

Check in was easy, concierge was very available and friendly, the location was very central to the best areas of Charleston. The room was comfortable (once we turned down the AC) and very clean. Maids were also friendly and attentive. The pool was a bit salty, but its in a very nice area at the spa. We didn't have a meal at any of their in house restaurants, but we did have a drink at the Hotel Bar which is a popular location even for locals. Parking was right outside and reasonably priced. Overall a great place to stay.
