Vacation trip

Six day enjoyable stay. Friendly staff, clean room in club level, satisfing breakfast, good view from 8th floor, Karl Erbes riesling wine in the evening while sharing a slice of cheese cake. Charleston Place is within walking distance of most every thing we wanted to see and we did not need a taxi ( tour bus to plantation, water taxi to York Town). We will make this hotel our first choice for Charleston. seniors from Iowa

overpriced, misleading room descriptions

I booked a Junior Suite. Junior Suites have one very distinct feature: "Separate seating area with a sofa bed". The first room they put me in (228) was obviously not a junior suite. It was a bed and a chair in a small room, I'm guessing it was the deluxe room. The front desk attendant, Tamesha, made it very apparent she was annoyed that I came back to request the room I actually booked, took my key card, went into the back office and reappeared about 5 minutes later. She took my phone number and said they would call me giving no time estimate. I waited 1 hour at the bar and did not receive a phone call. I went back to the front desk to inquire and she made it a point to tell me the first room was, in fact, a Junior Suite, but my new room was ready. The next room (409) was roughly the same size, organized a bit differently. Although this room had a chair and couch, the couch wasnt a sofa-bed and it wasnt in a separate seating area. It appeared to be a premier room with a couch. I debated whether or not to try to peruse it any further and decided to just stick with the premier room. I had been on the road all day and just wanted to shower and go out to eat. I didn't want to wait in the lobby with all my stuff for another hour only to be called a liar again and to be shuffled into another room that still might not be the style I booked. In spite of the bait and switch shenanigans, both rooms were very, very clean. The bar was classy. The location was excellent.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The bike taxi services are an excellent way to get around town. Those folks know every niche and can recommend a venue for anything you require.

Needed Vacation

Beautiful hotel! Located in exactly the right place. Comfortable room with fluffy beds. Beautifully decorated. We received turn down service only two of the five nights we were there. I think that it should have been all five nights, especially for the price of the hotel. One day, the room was barely cleaned.

Perfect anniversary weekend

Everything was as touted to be. The staff, from management to maids and bell staff, were incredible. There are not enough accolades I can give. Let me just say if you have celebrating a special occasion they will help make it memorable. Oh, and book the club rooms. It is more than worth the few extra buck for the amenities. Will never stay anywhere else when in Charleston.
