They need to change dog allowed policy

The Belmond is a very impressive building. The staff very pleasent. Dining options, particularly in the evening are limited but there are many good restaurants within walking distance. However if sleeping in a bed that last night someones dog slept in or wondering if that mark on the carpet was where someones dog had soiled or you might be disturbed in the night by a dog barking or the sound of someone shouting at their dog to be quite - then like me the Belmond is not for you. I can not understand why such an upmarket hotel tolerates dogs. In Europe dogs are not allowed in most hotels and most certainly not in the beds. I know the rooms receive special cleaning after being used by dogs but they are not deep cleaned or disinfected so guests are exposed to the many parasites and virus that even the best behaved dog can carry and pass to humans.
