A good time was had by all
My wife and I recently enjoyed a five night stay at this Inn. From the initial contact with front desk staff, we were treated like valued clients. The entire staff was absolutly committed to providing for our every need...and did so with charm and warmth rarely found when traveling. The afternoon and evening "socials" in the library were so enjoyable that we scheduled our sightseeing around them. When in the Charlestown area, this will be a "must stay" for us. The location was very convenient.

VERY QUAINT
The room was cozy and a little bit worn down. The pillows and bed linens could be replaced. However the amenities such as wine and cheese and sherry in the evenings were delightful. We found the concierge service to be very helpful.

Very charming
This Bed & Breakfast was very charming. The bedroom was very attractive & comfortable, and the stairway with its large railings was visually pleasing. It seemed like a larger than usual B&B. The library where they held their afternoon wine & cheese reception was nice, as was the adjoining room where the buffet breakfast was held. Convenient location in the historic area. Very helpful staff.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Don't order a mixed drink anywhere if it contains 2 or more liquors because they charge $6-8 per liquor. For a rusty nail I was charged $6 for the scotch and $8 for the drambieue (which should have been only a splash).

A Pleasant Stay
A very comfortable experience. Met very nice people at the wine and cheese hour. So nice to get away from the usual non personal hotel/motel routine. Everything was in short walking distance. We,along with our friends, intend to do it again next year!

Anchorage Inn, Charleston SC
Perfect location on E. Bay St and Vendue Range by the bay. Short walk to Market St. or the Battery. Staff arranged transportation and were helpful. Historic Cotton Warehouse converted to a clean and pleasant B&B. The internet was free with Connections in the room, WiFi and a stand alone computer in the lobby. The only two complains I had were that the in room connection only had a 3ft cable which made it hard to use and on my last day they missed my 5 am wake up call but there is an alarm in the room which woke me up. The B&B is in the middle of the tourist area surrounded by shops, resturants and tourist agencies which make it perfect for the person that wants to relax but also see the sights.

In Hotel
While staying here you don't need to rent a vehicle but if you need one they arranged for my transportation with PrimeTime Charleston which was private limo service in a Continental at less than taxi service. It was 13% less to the airport but then distance makes a difference.

Location, Location, Location
We headed down for a long weekend in Charleston and we couldn't pass up the rate at the Anchorage Inn. Little did we realize, that the location was perfect! We woke up the first morning to see dolphins just down the road at the Waterfront Park! A great first trip (of what will hopefully be many) to Charleston!

Great value and amazing location
Given the awesome rate I was able to secure online, you can't get much more of a pleasant stay in downtown Charleston for the money. The Anchorage Inn packs in plenty of extras that add value, including a continental breakfast, wine and cheese happy hour, as well as evening sherry service. Our innkeeper Lathronia was so warm and kind, and really made our trip special. Also, most of the major city highlights are within walking distance. We didn't move the car once!
