perfect area where we wanted to be

Nicer than we expected. Bathroom was alittle snug. If a shower was made in stead of a tub, it would be a little more comforable. Unfortunately being a former smoker, when we returned the next afternoon to our room. I did notice the room had a smoking smell to it. I expect that one of the maids might have had the smell in her clothes. It did clear up after awhile, which wasn't too bad. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay at your hotel.

When changing drivers make sure you go to an OFF ramp instead of pulling off on the side of the main road. It sure is much safer! We didn't have any trouble but we were advised by a trooper.

Great location and price

Last minute decision to go to Newport for a few days. Hotels in Newport were out of our budget and this one seemed the best deal. Comparing it to others in the area I was a little nervous but pleasantly surprised. Hotel was clean, staff pleasant and pool clean. Great for a late dip after a busy day. Not many restaurants in area was our only complaint.

Not Impressed

The room appeared clean and attractive on Friday afternoon when we checked in. Saturday morning I woke to find a red itchy bug bite of some sort on me. The second morning, Sunday, my husband had three bites on him. We were checking out and didn't say anything but now I remember the talk about beg bugs on the east coast and wish I had let the staff know. The pillows were WAY too firm and high for our taste so for the second night we requested flatter pillows and our service person brought us two feather pillows. The restaurant was a big dissappointment also. On our first morning we went for breakfast but had to approach the staff because there were three of them standing talking at the bar. The breakfast was good but the service was awful. That night I decided to try the breakfast delivery service offered so I put out the "breakfast order card" before the scheduled pick up time of 10pm. When our requested delivery time came and went I opened the door to see if they just set it down outside the door. That's when I found my order card still hanging on the door. I called the front desk and was transfered to the restaurant where I ordered the continential breakfast. The toast was barely toasted and it was cold. Coffee was not served in a carafe but arrived on the tray in two styrofoam cups. I was really displeased by the whole experience.

First rate

We were in RI for a family function. The hotel staff were excellent. The room rates were on the high side, however we were there during a "busy time". The restaurant attached to the hotel was wonderful. The food and service were much, much better than expected. We would recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity, well worth the visit.
