Wonderful hotel!
Matt from NYC Nov 18, 2009
At first, I was unimpressed with the size of the room. But we wound up having a wonderful stay and enjoying our clean, ... bright, and uniquely decorated room. Blueprints located throughout the common areas of the hotel remind you of the building's fascinating history. Hotel wound up being a great base of operations for a fun weekend in Providence!

It's worth walking along Benefit street to Wickenden where there are lots of cute shops, restaurants and cafes.

The hotel was very lovely and the staff were very courteous and attentive. My issue is that for the 5 star prices for a ... single night our room was not very quiet: we had a sexually active couple next to us that woke us up 5x with their headboard banging against our wall behind our heads. The sound insulation is very poor! For breakfast we had to wait 25+ min. to be seated. It wasn't because it was so busy, there were tables that were empty but they were dirty. The place was obviously understaffed and the service suffered greatly for it. So I felt like I was staying at a Motel 6 in some ways but paying 5 Star prices. If the room was cheaper I wouldn't even bother mentioning these things as it tends to come with the territory but for a more prestigious hotel I expect more and was disappointed this trip.

If you park a car with the valet, leave extra time for them to retrieve it so that you will not be late because of waiting for it (took longer than we expected).

Beautiful, pricey during event times like graduation.
Lane May 28, 2008
Very nice, very comfortable room. Upgraded bed linens and room amenities. I MUCH prefer a stocked bar/fridge rather than ... having to use room service for everything. There was a beautiful breakfast available Mon-Friday for club rooms. There was free internet in that room, otherwise expensive to use in room. Very, very nice hotel!

Very clean, and great location to downtown
Bradley Mar 8, 2008
The Renaissance Providence Hotel was a great choice. Room was absolutely huge, very comfortable with a great location to ... downtown. Providence place mall and local restaurants all within walking distance. Only thing they didn't have was pool but other than that, couldn't ask for a nicer place.
