Good Value for a 'fancy' hotel

This hotel was clean, very comfortable and stylish. It maintains a decor of a more traditional era, with contemporary accents. The staff are happy to help, but seem to be young to the service industry. A little rough around the edges, but interested in pleasing their guests. Our room was at a discount rate, and was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but it was organized in an efficient layout and was very comfortable to use. There was no dresser to store clothing, only a small closet. It is a very central location, and we could walk around the entire city and find our way home easily.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Most restaurants in this town are fairly expensive. It was difficult to find mid-priced food. Also, there were like 36 dunkin' donuts within a 10 block radius. Great restaurant that we visited was Local 121, just around the corner from the hotel.

the providence biltmore was a very elegant hotel. the junior suite is updated with a flat panel television and has a living room area for extra space. there was a large closet and a great view of the city. the restaurant attached to the hotel had a great menu and a nice bar. located in the heart of the city, it was near the mall and restaurant/bar district.

Dean's review of the Biltmore

The shift supervisor, [...] was very friendly and helpful and spot-on with a recommendation for a restaurant. The valets took care with my car and also were very nice.I like the "old-world" feel of the Biltmore versus the newer hotels.

Lovely stay.

I was in town for a friends wedding who's reception was in the hotel (the ballroom where the cocktail hour and dinner were held was nothing short of spectacular!). The only tiny (repeat TINY) complaint I had was the lack of a hotel store containing snacks, drinks, aspirin, toiletries, etc. Always makes for a nicer trip when you don't have to worry about the little things you may have forgotten. Other than that I would certainly recommend it without hesitation!

Great Location

Everything at the hotel was perfect, with the exception of one thing. My room was directly below the ballroom, so I was able to hear the DJ and dancing on my ceiling until about 11:30 PM. I was on business and really needed the rest. But, the service at this hotel is absolutely over the top and I would definitely stay again.

Well worth the Trip!

This was a one overnite stay on business. We went looking for the historic appeal of the hotel, Not disappointed. The lobby is fantastic. The staff is very friendly seems to be a trait in Rhode Island. Not so much 25 miles north! The rooms are older but renovated, very clean. Well worth the stop, will definately return! Reccomend to anyone looking for old charm with high class appeal.

Nice place, good rate

The desk service was quick and accommodating. The room was in great shape. The hotel was pretty busy, but still quiet. The restaurant downstairs was really good. I chose the hotel mainly because the housekeepers are unionized, but there are plenty of other reasons to stay here.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The food at the McCormick and Schmidt's was as good as other restaurants I have been to in the city. The hotel is a short walk (uphill) to Federal Hill, so it is the best of both worlds.
