Horrible Experience
I went to this hotel for the location and for the reputation it had from when I used to live there. Well, the lobby looked great, valet parking, good location in downtown. They give a good deal in the rooms because they charge $26.00 for parking. I wouldn't have cared if the rooms were up to date. The rooms are old, the hallways smell old and funny....When we got to our room the bed linens are old, the wallpaper is coming out and the walls were cracked. Too bad, this is the Biltmore in Providence, a classic. Will never go back!

Charm
Excellent staff at the front door, and desk. The hotel is charming and had a lot of room in the two room king suite. $121. The living room was a corner with a great view of the down town. Restaurant and the bar had great seafood, mussels, clams, and the dinner of atlantic salmon with truffel mushrooms very fresh. I liked the trade off of older room and decorating (bedding was updated and comforatble) for large room and good location. The overnight parking for $26 was the only negative but total price still less than other down town properties. I recommend this hotel.

Quality and worth the price for convenience.
The Providence Biltmore was extremely convenient. Right downtown and near the hospital (where I was interviewing). Older bulding but very clean. Restaurant and Starbucks right off of main lobby. Would stay again.

Good bones, but showing age.
The Biltmore is a classic old hotel in the heart of a reborn Providence city center. It's location is a strong suit, but the hotel is getting a bit long in the tooth. Rates were reasonable, the bed was extremely comfortable, and WiFi is provided free of charge, but walls and adjoining room doors are thin, paint is chipped here and there, TVs are older, tube style lacking HD. Staff are capable but not extraordinary, the hotel restaurant an outlet of a quality chain (McCormick & Schmicks) and room service prices not horribly high. A refit & refurbish (and perhaps fixing the signature glass elevator?) would breathe new life into the Biltmore, as the Downtown around it has been revamped over the past 10 years.

Great Experience.. will book again soon!!!
This is an elegant sophisticated beautiful and historical hotel with all the upgrades that you would expect in a modern day establishment. Perfectly clean!!! The architectural design and furnishing is very lavish. This hotel hosts a brand-new state-of-the art Red Door Spa by Elizabeth Arden--which was phanominal. Exactly in the middle of downtown Providence with a new upscale mall 2 blocks away and many more shops, fantastic restaurants (one being on the 1st floor of the hotel and a Starbucks Coffee on the 1st floor too). The night club scene is within walking distance too only a couple of blocks away. This is where I will be booking my reservations the 3-4 times a year to come into town from now on. It is that nice.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
Use the valet parking. It is a few extra dollars a day than the parking garage which you would have to walk too behind the hotel, but you can have your car brought to you at your request with ease, as often as you would like daily at no extra charge. Also, they insure, if anything happens to your car in their care. It is well worth it.

Value but location...
Good value, amentities. The staff was great, the restaurant was pricey. Downtown location was convenient, but loud. Room air conditioning and heat didnt work and maintainance could not fix it during the stay. The valet/parking wasn't good at all, and valet damaged my car!

Grand Dame of Providence
This is the kind of hotel that your grandparents told you about. High ceilings, big, big rooms, a big lobby. The decor is a little drab and old fashioned. McCormick & Schmick's on the ground floor will provide a fine repast.

Great Location!
The Providence Biltmore was conveniently located downtown within walking distance to EVERYTHING (shopping mall, several restaurants, nightlife, river walk, car rental and Amtrak station). The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was nice but average and could use more lighting. The bed however was exceptional. I was very disappointed with the business center $5 charge to print a boarding pass. Overall, great value and great experience.
