Nice Hotel, fair price, pay to park
Mark Nov 11, 2009
The hotel was nice, staff was great, but to keep your car overnight you had to pay $20.00. That should be included in the ... hotel stay. Was unhappy with paying to park. Otherwise everything else was great.

Nice hotel; concierge needs some work...
Rob Oct 26, 2009
Great room but the concierge gave us a song and dance about the fact that the hotel had a courtesy shuttle to anywhere we ... neded to go but told us that the traffic was "probably" too congested and we should just walk....it was raining mind you, and we proceeded to take her advice. Later after leavng our first destnation we took a cab to another location in the city and was told by the driver that the traffic was light all night and we should have been able to take the shuttle. Lesson learned, if you want it in the first place just tell them to make it happen and for them, get the customer a shuttle if they ask for a shuttle, don't make excuses about non-existant traffic!

Hillton Providence
Disgusted Oct 9, 2009
Loctation was fine. I have spent most of my working life traveling and have not been on the road for the last few years. ... Leave it to say if I had to stay at the Providence Hilton I would stay home. The only thing pleasant about this stay was the girl who checked me in initially and the first night room service. After that it was all down hill. No room attention the next day at all. no Coffee in the room, room service the second night was a disaster. First, no silver ware then no sugar or cream for the coffee and it went on and on and ended with nasty little guy giving me directions when I left. Never again. Overall most everyone I had contact with made me feel like I was bothering them.

Great hotel but skip the breakfast
TravelBunny Sep 14, 2009
[...] at the desk was great, dinner at Shula's was good, location was excellent - but the overpriced room service breakfast ... was inedible. High-priced grapefruit juice? Not juice - some horrid sweetened pink drink. Yellow dry pebbles called scrambled eggs, bacon so thick and hard you would need an electric grinder to eat it. The potatoes were almost raw. I drank the coffee..................

Pleasant Surprise
Scooter Mc Gruder Mar 13, 2009
This hotel is located close to Federal Hill, a great location for the many restaurants. The room was clean and orderly with ... nice details. Room service was prompt and apologetic (within minutes) to correct an oversight the wrong breakfast order. Our visit coincided with a regional cheering function at the nearby convention center. This resulted in many children in wet bathing suits in the elevators and lobby chairs. We were overall happy with our stay, and would return.

Friendly hotel
Christi Oct 15, 2008
The Hilton Providence was a pretty good hotel, not what I expected though. There was no comforter or bed skirt on the bed, ... the toilet ran all the time, and the desk chair was uncomfortable. Maid service was hit and miss. Overnight parking was quite pricey at $24 per night. Hotel staff wasn't very good at giving us directions and information. The Don Shula restaurant in the hotel was very good. The TV didn't have alot of stations. There is a Starbucks right outside the door.

Federal Hill is a couple blocks away and there are lots of great places to eat. It is an old Italian neighborhood.

Gail Sep 16, 2007
EXTREMELY friendly and courteous staff -everyone from desk staff, porters, maids,... . The Hilton is very accomodating ... and I would definitely return as long as the cost is comparable. The easy access to Shula's was an added bonus. Great staff, good food.

great business value
Elizabeth Aug 9, 2007
This hotel was next door to the convention center & within walking distance to the Italian neighborhood, Providence Place ... mall and downtown restaurants. The room was very comfortable for one person but would have been small for two people. The bed was divine. The hotel staff was very attentive but respected the do not disturb sign. The bathroom was a nice size with plenty of counter space. Checking in & out were very quick & easy.
