Though the outside needs some work, and they are working on the building that had a fire, the place is a hidden gem. The staff was friendly and the room updated and clean. I was impressed that the motel felt like a hotel on the indside. I was pleased to have a fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. I had a room with a king-sized bed. I am very pleased with my stay and would book a room there again.

My friend and I selected this hotel because it was cheap and only a 5minute drive from the heart of Newport. We only planned to shower and sleep at the hotel, and that worked out perfectly for us. The staff was very friendly. The room was certainly not the cleanest and the AC sounded like it was dripping (but worked just fine). My biggest complaint is the shower. The drain did NOT drain and the faucet was old and so hard to figure out. The water also wasn't that hot. But my bed was really comfy and the TV has lots of channels...most people who come to Newport don't really stay in the hotel at all so if you're just looking for a place to sleep that's really close to everything you're in the right place.

This hotel was great. Inexpensive and well kept. Our room was well kept, two queen beds, tv, desk, a few lamps, and bathroom. I have no complaints and would stay here again. Ten minute drive from Newport parking and attractions. Don't stay here if you are high maintenance and expect the ritz. Stay here if you are flexible, relaxed, and need a place to stay for a week without stress. I loved it here. Also, free wifi!

We stayed at the Pineapple for a family event in the area because we wanted a cheap place to rest our head for one night. We should have spent a little more money and went somewhere else. The place was clean, however the furniture was worn, there was no iron or board. The beds were made with two top sheets instead of a bottom sheet with an elastic, which meant that I slept on bare mattress almost all night after a toss and turn. Then finally In the morning the shower was barely warm, and that is generous. Spend more and go somewhere else.

Nothing went wrong, but you get what you pay for. Room smelled fine, bed wasn't comfortable but I slept fine, staff was very helpful (American). Tv sucks, old and bad color and limited remote options (can't change menu settings such as a volume limit) could barely hear some channels at full volume. Wireless Internet access was great. Overall - cheap cheap place to stay if you're working on the base, not good for vacation.

I would have payed double what I paid to get a clean room than what i got her. The bathroom was nasty, with hair all over. I had to wear my sandles to shower and walk around. If you're looking for a budget and don't care about cleanliness then this your place, otherwise pay the extra money and stay elsewhere.

Room very clean. Microwave,fridge,coffeemaker like new. Ice available free. Bed& pillows comfortable. Room serviced daily with large clean towels,shampoo &bathmat. Staff so very helpful, even with phone directions when I missed a turn on the Interstate. We were given a local map, highlighted by the desk clerk to show the attractions we wanted to see, at check-in, without having to ask. No road noise at all. Inexpensive and more than adequate.

We have been to newport 3 times over the past year since our child has enrolled at Salve Regina University. January, June and now in August. It caught us off guard the dramitic increase in hotel prices from the three different months. We were just looking for a fiar priced hotel/motel to stay and sleep while we dropped our son off in college. Reasonably priced, but got no maid service. Nobody came in to make up our room while we were gone. Nothing really special that the hotel had to offer.

Went to Rhode Island for a few days with friends. Sadly, our room did not even have the basics. The tub was dirty and did not drain; the shower head was leaking; the bathroom door did not close; the chair was so dirty, and sticky, that we could not even sit on it; the sheets were not changed for the three nights that we were there! I could go on and on.... I know this is not a 5 star hotel and did not expect 5 star service, but at the very least, if things were clean I would have had no complaints. When I asked to be switched to another room, I was told that the hotel was fully booked and no other rooms were available. Refunds were not an option. I did not go to another motel since my friends were from another country and they did not feel comfortable staying there by themselves. I have come to the conclusion that it was probably the worst room in the place that they never usually put people in, but they had to put us in that room since no other rooms were available for that high demand weekend! I would never stay here again, nor would I ever recommend this place to anybody.
