First-class hotel with indoor pool in downtown Newport near the marina
The Newport Marriott hotel sits in the heart of historic downtown Newport, near the marina with easy access to boating, golf and beaches -- not to mention great shops and restaurants. Stay Away
Totally overprice, the room view was the parking lot, we had to wait about 20 minuter to have breakfast, the hotel was full capacity and there were no sufficient staff. In sum, terrible, never ever will stay again and I do NOT RECOMMEND.

Loved it!
We stayed overnight only one night, but it was a great night. The staff at the desk we so polite and professional. The hotel and our room were spotless. The bed was very comfy! The hotel is located close to everything, shops, restaurants, things to see and do! We bought an all day trolley pass and visited the Newport mansions. The trolley stop is right next foot to the hotel. It was a great place to call our home base!

Newport Marriot - Classy and Clean
Took my girlfriend on a weekend getaway for her birthday. The Marriot is nicely located in newport within walking distance of many attractions

There is very nice restaurant where you can eat courtside at the tennis hall of fame, is called the laforge.

Get the breakfast package. It's well worth it since the buffet is fabulous! Also, the beds are very comfortable. You can rent movies to your room that have not yet been released.

Great Weekend!!
We were so pleased with the beautiful view from our room, and we enjoyed the restaurant very much. The housekeeping staff were wonderful as were the wait staff. It was a great weekend.

Good Holiday Experience
We stayed at the Newport Marriott for two nights at Thanksgiving, 2007, checking in during the evening hours of the Holiday. The staff on duty that day was not too well informed about the details. I had to make several calls and visits to the front desk to iron out the details but we eventually received everything that we needed. We had a late night snack in the lounge (the dining room was not open that night). The food was mediocre and the skeleton crew on duty that evening could not keep up with the numerous hotel guests who wanted service. It did not appear that there was anywhere else in town that was serving that night. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with delicious selections of fruit, hot and cold cereal, breakfast meats, fish, breads, pastries and made to order omelets and waffles. The morning wait staff was pleasant and attentive. This was a highlight of our stay. The fitness center and pool were clean, orderly and well appointed. The location on the harbor is ideal. We walked along the waterfront and shopped along Thames Street on Black Friday. Our bill arrived during the night prior to our departure and on-line checkout through our in-room TV was great. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel and have already recommended it to friends and family for a weekend getaway.
