we went there for a long weekend. the location is fantastic. walking distance of everything. the building is old, not the cleanest.

ok price for last minute
hotel appeared clean, bathroom could use a little more attention "behind & around" fictures. but everything overall was fine. nothing really stood out.

Great Location
We came here just to take a weekend trip during Newport's off peak season. The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. We didn't have to worry about parking since it was included. The hotel was only about 5 minutes from the Cliff Walk and Easton Beach. We had a harbor view, which was awesome and the indoor pool was nice.

Definitely check out the Cliff Walk, it's beautiful. The earlier you go, the fewer people there will be. Some parts are not handicap or baby stroller accessible.

Perfect location
This is the second time we've stayed here and probably the only place we would stay. it's close to everything, shopping, dining and entertainment. The waterview is a must.

Newport is for Lovers of the Sea
We enjoyed the wharf/harbor areas very much; browsed the shops, took a sightseeing harbor cruise, dined in several restaurants. One day we drove to the mansions and cliff walk section of Newport. This was our first visit and we would enjoy revisiting. One negative, there is limited parking in the wharf area. Of special interest, we visited the Seaman's Church Institute, a nonprofit refuge for sailors. They offer a fine breakfast and are located only steps from the Newport Hotel.

Shopping you can do anywhere, but we enjoyed the unique beauty of the ocean, historic mansions and harbor. Due to torrential rain we were unable to take the Cliff Walk, but it borders many mansions and overlooks the spectacular Atlantic Ocean as it crashes onto the rocks.

I gave this hotel an average rating for a few reasons. When we checked in the front desk informed us that they did not have the room we reserved. The cleaning people did not clean our room either. We had the "do not disturb" sign on the door until about 10am and then took it off... we had to call and have them come clean it while we were at dinner... although they came in and gave us clean towels they did not make the bed or wipe down the bathroom. On a positive note we were able to have an early check in and the location is wonderful. I was hoping for the money we spent that weekend we could have had a little better service.

Needed a Weekend Away
Overnight stay
We had a beautiful room overlooking the water. The hotel and room was very clean and nice looking. We arrived early and the hotel called us when our room was clean so that we could check-in. Very friendly staff. The restaurant-Pier 49 was great. I do wish there was a hot tub, but I will stay here again on my next trip to Newport. The bed was amazingly comfortable. My husband and I loved it!!
