Attack of the Ants
Our room had ants in it and the staff was unwilling to address the issue because the hotel was full. I will not be staying here ever again. There are many other choices of hotels in the area and you need not pay these rates for such poor conditions.

Very Nice Hotel
Clean and comfortable room, although rather small and somewhat dated. Hotel has a restaurant and is right next to all the Newport piers. Walking distance to all Newport (town) restaurants, etc. Free Parking! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hotel needs serious updating of rooms to charge what they do. Probably was excellent thirty years ago. .Nothing special. It has conference rooms attached, otherwise I would not have stayed there. High price for off-season for what you get.

You get what you pay for.
We stayed for 3 nights/4 days over the Columbus Day Holiday. The hotel wasn't cheap but the ammenities,location, and quality were inline with the cost. The staff was eager to please from the bell staff to the wait staff in the restaurant. The view of the harbor from my room window and the hotel's central location was worth the cost alone. This was my 10th visit over 30 years and it was the best. You can go cheaper..but you only get what you pay for.

Eat at the Black Pearl, the food was excellent! Skip the extra cost of the Commodore Room food come from the same kitchen and the dress code is a little more inline with the vacation theme. If you want to dress up and go fancy with great food go to the White Horse Tavern.

It was a little expensive for what we got - but you can't beat this location. It is front and center to everything in Newport.. just a few minutes from everything. I would certainly stay there again. Try get in earlier than I did to get a better rate tho!

Lovely stay
The location of the hotel was outstanding. We walked through town, and had a pleasant stroll for lunch and dinner both days. Nice to not have to find parking in downtown Newport! The service at the hotel was very pleasant (with the exception of a snippy concierge) and everything was clean and welcoming. The pool area is very nice, and a swim after a lot of walking was a great way to wind down. We stayed in a room with a Harbor view and it was a great scene to wake up to. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location
Walking distance to shops & restaurants, 5min drive to Newport mansions. Although, I expected more to be opened in late April. Many eateries & shops still closed.

The room was not clean-broken glass in bathroom and trash under one of the beds-it wasnt that nice for the price!!!
