Just got back yesterday from a 3 night stay. Every negative review was dead on. Outdated, small rooms. VERY noisy, you can clearly hear every word being said as people walk down the hall, slam doors etc. There is no "vestibule" type area. Door is right at the foot of the bed by maybe 12" or so! The sliding glass door to the bathroom does not, and they are meant, to not close all the way, so NO privacy. (The glass is a smoked glass though, and the open part is about an inch which seems like a lot when traveling with a friend and not a spouse as we were. Also the entry door has about a 1/2" wide gap on 3 sides which allows a tremendous amount of hall light brightness in, along with the noise. We were very much looking forward to using the indoor pool which looked lovely. However, it is located in such a way you literally need to walk through the hotel lobby past the most populated public areas of the hotel to reach it. And I need to mention the distance needed to get to the rooms and the pool was twice as far!! It was by far the longest walk I have ever experienced in my life in a hotel. Elevators were placed oddly away from the rooms. Weird. Room was overpriced for what you got. Also, they take 150.00 on you CC for incidentals when you arrive, AND you pay 30 DOLLARS EXTRA every day just for staying there. They DO NOT mention that in the price of the room! 3 positives, location was beautiful and very central to all things Newport. The breakfast was included and that would've run between 40-50 dollars a day. Ha! I can't remember the third thing! If you decide to stay there, bring a white noise machine to sleep. I did. If i hadn't,, this would've been a one star.

Nice hotel
Rooms were modern and clean, but a little tight in space. When there are events there, parking is non existent. Location provides a great view, but you're away from the Newport shops and restaurants. Probably wouldn't have booked it if it wasn't a special occasion.

Aquidneck Lobster. Live lobster market that they'll steam for you. Find a bench or take short walk to park and feast. Come prepared with condiments.

Hyatt Goat Island
It was fantastic. At one point we need a wine bottle opener and they dropped one off to our room but it didn't work and we went to the bar down stairs in which it took 3 different employees to take the cork out of this bottle. Their tenacious attitude was grateful as the bottle was an old and expensive one :-) and my best girl and I enjoyed.

excellent Hotel & service
Everything was first class, beautiful room, incredible bathroom with jacuzzi, nice restaurants, beatufil water views and great staff. Nice gym equipment, very convenient to downtown Newport and lots to do. Shuttle runs every 1/2 hour into town. Would gladly go again. Food and room a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

Great Getaway
We were greated by a very pleasant and professional staff. We were both surprised at just how friendly and personable everyone was. The rooms were nice but on several occasions we could clearly hear individuals in the hallway. The room was clean and the view was amazing. Hotel bartender was so nice it was like having a drink with an old friend.

Several upscale restaurants offered off season dinners for two for about $65 which included a bottle of wine. We dined at 22 Bowens and it was amazing, best steak I have had in years.

one night getaway
The location was perfect, the setting beautiful. The staff were first class, pleasant, upbeat really listened to what you had to say, remembered our names and made one feel so welcome. The bar food was super. The chowder was the best ever lots of it and very tasty. We would definitely return. M.McP

overpriced
The amenities were great,except the shuttle is very small for the amount of rooms they have and the cost for staying there.We had to wait in the freezing cold with two elderly friends while the shuttle took two more trips before they could take us back to hotel.The rooms are very small and both times I stayed there something was broken in the room.Our bathroom door was broken and would not close.,(we had 4women in the room)and they could not fix it.They told us they had no other rooms(both times!)so they offered us a breakfast.I will never stay there again because of the room conditions.The rest of the hotel is beautiful,but it is a hotel so they need to fix their rooms and get another shuttle.
