Elegant boutique hotel in the heart of Newport's Historic Hill area
The elegant Hotel Viking, a Noble House Hotel, sits among gorgeous brownstones and nearby mansions in Newport's Historic Hill neighborhood. From the lobby to the guest rooms, beautiful furnishings, carpets and wall hangings envelope guests with classic décor. The 80-year-old Hotel Viking has welcomed notable guests, including John F. and Jackie Kennedy to its hilltop location overlooking Bellevue Avenue. Excellent location
Beautiful old hotel. Staff is very friendly. It was our second time staying there this year. First time we were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. This time we had a room in the newer part of the hotel. The room was very nice however it was a little noisy. We were awakened very early by the guest above us pacing back and forth on a squeaky floor.

A honeymoon to remember
My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Newport and stayed at the Hotel Viking and were very Pleased. The location was perfect walking distance from Thames St. And a quick ride to the beach. Rooms were clean and as described. Staff members were very kind and helpful. The hotel makes you feel like your a part of historic Newport. I would def. Stay again

Very nice old Hotel
The room was well decorated and bed very comfortable. We stayed in the hotel's smallest room type 150 sq ft. It was small. If you plan to spend time in your room go for one of the bigger selections. The hotel location is great, walking distance of most everything, and the valet parking was efficient. The indoor pool and hot tub were very nice. We didn't use the bar or dining, but they looked nice.

Viking Weekend 2011
The staff @ Viking are OUTSTANDING! The guest room was on the "small" side, but can not complain. The hotel restaurant is excellent. We will ALWAYS return to The VIking for our Newport weekends!!

great location, great restaurant
weekend getaway in Newport was great. The Hotel Viking was in a great location. Room was a little small and we were right next to the noisy elevator which was a bit disappointing. Restaurant in the Hotel was terrific... food and service. Lobster special could not be beat-- we went back twice.

Lovely Couples' Retreat
Beautiful hotel. Hidden Charges.
The hotel is beautiful and is only a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops on the wharfs of Newport. The service was outstanding! Always prompt and friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub were a great way to end an early Spring night. There are some charges that the hotel doesn't inform you about when you arrive. These charges are all applicable, but higher than expected. It is definitely worth it to pay a little extra for the extraordinary service they provide.

Great Stay
Great staff, excellent rooms and an amazing location. Prices are good for Newport. This hotel has a long history and it feels like an old style hotel with modern conveniences, something you just don't get in newer hotels.
