It was a wonderful time I had in state college,pa...i recommend this hotel to all that fly there or drive....Courteous people staff and the town buzzes with excitement in every nook and cranny....I really loved the veiw from the back of the hotel...stream,ducks,beaver,lots of birds and lots of white tail deer on the hill...it was gorgeous...even being at the hotel you didn't even have to travel far to eat or shop...and the concert at Bryce Stadium was awesome...BON JOVI ....of course...who else...was lucky to meet up with friends and i am moving back this trip to here this hotel was the most life changing ever...ty to all of the staff who made me stay quite comfy...to all of you..and Kim Young for welcoming home in a matter I didn't expect...with lots of warmth and friendship you are a great person to work there...they should be proud...you made me feel home again...ty girl...Michele

Breakfast rolls snatched away at 10:00:1
A false fire alarm went off several times during the night. They close their complimentary breakfast at 10:00 am. I showed up at about 10:00 and the rolls were still set out. I was up at the counter about ready to take a roll, when the lady serving the breakfast snatched them away, saying it was 10:00. How much trouble would it have been to tell us that she was closing up, so to please take what we wanted immediately? What, was she saving the rolls for tomorrow's breakfast? If the rolls had already been put away, I would not have been upset, but this was just plain rude. We moved to another hotel for the rest of our stay.

Price Disappointment
I was disappointed to find that although I got supposedly the lowest price from Orbitz, some one checked in after me and got a rate that was almost $30 less!

Nice Hotel
It was a nice hotel. I got the room the day after a home PSU football game (that they won!!).... It smelled that way. But, knowing that it was a reasonable room, pet friendly...

Mt. Nittany is a must hike, not too mention that State College is surrounded by State Forest Land and State Game Land.

Worked for me
The room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. It met our needs for a place to crash after a game and an evening of celebrating. The only shortcoming is the distance from the action. However,it is not a bad drive on University Ave to get to and from the stadium

The Perkins is literally right outside the front door. Great for an early breakfast when you aren't quite awake yet for driving.

Clean and convenient
We visited Penn State for an intro and a tour. It was a short drive and convenient to the campus, BEaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center. The hotel entrance was hard to see as it was marked by a very small sign near a Perkins entrance. Breakfast was just OK. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, closet was big and open, the sink was outside the shower and bath,and the night was quiet.

Basic lodging at its best
All I wanted or needed was a clean, quiet, room and a decent price. Super 8 was perfect and had the extra advantage of breakfast.
