Clean and convenient
We visited Penn State for an intro and a tour. It was a short drive and convenient to the campus, BEaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center. The hotel entrance was hard to see as it was marked by a very small sign near a Perkins entrance. Breakfast was just OK. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, closet was big and open, the sink was outside the shower and bath, and the night was quiet.

Worked for me
The room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. It met our needs for a place to crash after a game and an evening of celebrating. The only shortcoming is the distance from the action. However,it is not a bad drive on University Ave to get to and from the stadium

Short walk from hotel
The Perkins is literally right outside the front door. Great for an early breakfast when you aren't quite awake yet for driving.

O.K.
The hotel is a few miles from downtown, about a 45 minute walk if you get stuck downtown and all the cabs are busy, which happened in my case. The rooms are dull and have that dirty feel to them. Our shower was dripping water the entire time we were there and the plug for the drain had been taken out and was lying at the bottom of the tub in several pieces. However, it's almost the cheapest hotel within walking distance to town, so what do you expect?

Nightlife tip:
Long walk from hotel
If you're staying out at the bars late, prepare to walk back to the hotel or wait 30-45 minutes for a cab.

Last option
Not a great hotel. Rooms smelled odd. Towels were worn and scratchy. TV remote did not work.

Nice Hotel
It was a nice hotel. I got the room the day after a home PSU football game (that they won!!).... It smelled that way. But, knowing that it was a reasonable room, pet friendly...

had better
When entering the room I instantly notice how stuffy the room was and the slight odor. The room appear to be clean until I pulled back the top cover. The sheets had visible stains on them. Thank goodness I ended up in a room with two double beds. Other than a few house cleaning issues the staff was friendly and the hotel was quiet and peaceful.

Price Disappointment
I was disappointed to find that although I got supposedly the lowest price from Orbitz, some one checked in after me and got a rate that was almost $30 less!

Good, cheap hotel
This is an economy hotel, but was clean and tastefully decorated. The internet worked flawlessly, there were free apples and coffee all night, cookies in the afternoon, and a good breakfast. Oddly, the hotel smelled a amonia, but it turned out to be outside the hotel, not inside. I never did figure out why. I have stayed in much worse hotels for more money. The radio wasn't great. It is hard to find the driveway entrance. It is from the SIDE STREET, not from South Atherton.

Super 8 is super for us
We came in to town for a wedding so we only needed one nite stay....but we were allowed to check in early to change clothes and the staff couldn't have been nicer.....and they were great with directions, even in the GPS era.
