Great location for University of Pittsburgh parents, fans, and alumni
The Holiday Inn Select Pittsburgh at University Center is the perfect place for Pitt parents, prospective students, and anyone else visiting the University of Pittsburgh. Nice location near CMU and Pitt
We stayed at the Wyndham on a college visit .. It was very conveniently located. Beware that this hotel recently changed hands, and there are at least two other hotels which are named "Wyndham" in Pittsburgh, so Google maps can get confused. It was very clean and well maintained. Service was fine ... Will stay here next time we are in Pittsburgh.

great hotel in the center of the university of pittsburgh
hotel was very clean, staff was friendly and very helpful when it came to getting directions to different places. You cant beat the location as well, right near everything the university has to offer.

Pitt trip
We found the hotel with out any problem. The hotel looked very nice and the staff was friendly. We found out that we had to pay another $20 to park the car. We felt that the prices at the hotel restaurant were very high so we did not eat there.

You can take a short walk accross 5th ave to the basement of cathedral of learning for a reasonably priced meal.

Bring more $$$
Had to pay 20/day for parking. 20/day for mini fridge. No comp bagel or coffee in the morning. Place was noisy, can hear other rooms & hallway noise. They 1st gave us room with broken toilet (had been reported by housekeeping, but not fixed) Housekeeper clued us in, so we got different room. Room was nice, modern, clean. Bed comfy w/ nice fluffy pillows. Location is the best feature of this hotel with free shuttle up to 3 miles. So once you pay for parking, use the shuttle for the UPMC destinations. Restaurant in hotel was decent, little pricey but good food. We only had breakfast though.

Great Location
Wonderful location for visiting surrounding universities. Front desk and staff pleasant, helpful. Facility clean. Cannot understand why parking isn't included in overnight stay.

Good Oakland location
Great location for U of PIT visitors! The room was clean and very comfortable. Although the bathroom was a bit smelly, overall the stay was pleasant.

Surprising shortcomings
No wireless internet in the room. Extra $20 for parking that wasn't made clear ahead of time. Bathroom was dirty.

Decent, nothing extraordinary
I got it pretty cheap, so it was worth it for me, but I think I'd be a little upset if I paid full price. It really wasn't anything special, pretty much just an ordinary hotel with a really nice restaurant, in a pretty good location. The parking fees are definitely ridiculous, but I was able to find parking on the street nearby every night if you don't mind walking a little ways.
