Downtown Pittsburgh hotel is having an extreme makeover
The Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown just completed $30 million in renovations to its 712 guest rooms. Renovations on the exterior façade and the interior, including its conference center, fitness center, and soon-to-open spa, will continue through fall 2011.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Used the bus to get from the airport to the hotel, free hotel shuttle to get to hockey arena, and everything else was within walking distance. Not 1 cab fare!

Double Err
Some Unusual Stuff
Overall the hotel was excellent BUT my scheduled wake up call came more than an hour early - Err!!!! and my room phone rang twice during the middle of the night and woke me - DOUBLE Err!!!

When I walk through the hotel the first thing that I like its lobby and banquet area and my great room.. I love the bed it was so soft warm.,,

Post Steelers Game Excellence
The staff was awesome. We walked from Heinz Field to the hotel and since we are not from Pittsburgh, all I had to do was call and the lady gave me step by step directions. The people were very nice. The room was better than most Vegas rooms I have stayed at. It was clean and comfortable. The view was breath taking. A great overlook of the 3 rivers confluence, Heinz Field and PNC Park. We could also see the Mr. Roger's statue across the river. Simply beautiful.

Eat at Primanti Bros. on 18th St. It's the original one and it is awesome. It was an $8 cab ride or a casual walk away.

Excellent Post Game Stay
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful. I go to Las Vegas a lot and the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh was one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. Very comfortable bed and a BEAUTIFUL view of the 3 rivers confluence overlooking Heinz Field and PNC Park!!!!!!! Simply AWESOME STAY!

Awesome Steeler getaway!
Stayed a Sun and Mon night while visiting Pittsburgh for Steelers game! Perfect central location: for short walks to Heinz-field and Rivers Casino area and PNC Park. Plus it's still convenient to Cultural District; a 6dollar taxi to Southside/CarsonStreet and inclines; and a short 10min stroll up Penn Ave to "the strip". No city traffic to worry with if driving in from Fort Pitt Tunnel since hotel is 1st building on The Point! Even though construction was going on, never heard or bothered from my room(which king bed was super comfy). Definitely recommend this hotel, will stay here again next time. And my fiancé loved it!

Couples getaway!
Awesome. Beds are soooo comfortable. Very clean! Lounge was very relaxing. We had breakfast in the restaurant, WOW, very yummy. Service was excellent. Would recommend to anyone. Great location.

Primanti Brothers, sandwiches so good! The Tavern, go upstairs, sit on the couch next to the bar, drink and order food. Very good and excellent service.

Wonderful Package and Hotel
This was my first time booking a combination trip. The hotel was beautiful and the staff really friendly. I will make this hotel my only choice when I return. In fact I will be there 3 or 4 time a year after that visit.
