Located on what was once known as known as Millionaires Row where some of Pittsburghs most notable industrialists lived; the Mansions on Fifth is a luxury hotel that gracefully balances the old and the new with friendly staff whose only priority is to serve. Art; flowers; antiques and reproductions surround you. Rich mahogany and stained glass windows and comfortable furniture and fireplaces welcome you with surprises in every room and rooms that surprise you.Like the private chapel on the 2nd floor or the split level suite with sky light on the 3rd floor or the guest room with a jaw dropping glass mosaic fireplace.

Weekend at the Mansion

Booked a weekend stay at the Mansion and wasn't disappointed. The Mansion was built in 1906, recently restored accepting travelers. It is a beautiful property, with a dark wood Tudor theme, stained glass and fantastic architecture, reminding us of our time in England. We stayed in a very spacious room on the 3rd floor. There is valet service (a small charge is added) likely because of limited parking when there are more guests. Complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. The owners took a lot of time, effort and money in restoring this property to a glorious state. Other than being pricey, we had an excellent stay. Bit of royal elegance in Pittsburgh

Not nearly as premium as they hope.

We were put in a newly renovated room up 3 flights of stairs in the attic in the "daughter mansion". We thought we were staying in the big house. The room was so new they hadn't even finished it yet. The window to the busy 5th Ave was not soundproofed in any way, not even curtains to help. Very noisy. The first night the AC broke down and we were informed it wouldn't be fixed until the following day. If I had wanted Motel 6 I would have paid for that. I paid significantly more and had high expectations. Not a great value, at least until they discover quality control.
