Hotel Overview
The Mansions on Fifth is notable for its historic legacy and ties to Pittsburghs past. The restoration of the Mansions involved an unwavering commitment to preserving as much of the historical detail and integrity of the Mansions as possible. In her new chapter as a luxury hotel, The Mansions future involves an equally strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability. In 2005, entrepreneurs and preservationists Richard Pearson and Mary Del Brady began a multi-year effort to purchase and develop the Mansions with a commitment to restoring the elegant property to its original grandeur. As a result of the historic significance of the Mansions, the restoration garnered tremendous community support from the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation and the City of Pittsburgh, among others. Viewed as a testament to the craftsmen and artisans who built Pittsburgh, the Mansions were restored consistent with Secretary of Interior standards, and have been approved for listing with the National Register of Historic Places. Original room configurations, finishes and appearance are being preserved while the premises are being upgrading with state-of-the art mechanical, electrical and communications systems.
