comfortable place to stay near airport
I wanted to stay at a hotel near the airport, and also wanted a minimal kitchen (refrigerator at least), so this place fit the bill. The kitchen consisted of a small refrigerator and tiny microwave (some other chains offer an actual kitchenette, so if that's what you need, keep looking). I used the fitness room several times. Like most hotels, it was tiny, but all the machines were in good working order. The pool and hot tub looked nice but I never got a chance to use them. The breakfast buffet was decent. I tried the eggs one morning and was not impressed enough to have them again. But I was happy with oatmeal and bagels. I heard some other people say that the "make your own" waffles were good. One down side: my room only got cleaned about every other day, and even then they did not always remember to refresh the coffee and shampoo. I was running on a late schedule, so this might not be a problem if you are out of your room every morning when they come around for cleaning. Also, the breakfast starts and ends early on weekdays, later on weekends -- very logical but exactly opposite my schedule, since I was basically still on Pacific time during the week, then had to get up and out very early for my flight home on Saturday. Again, probably works perfectly for the majority.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
This hotel is in the middle of a shopping plaza (very close but not pedestrian-friendly). There are multiple restaurants nearby, and also a Walmart with a grocery section.

Tons to do
This was in an amazing location within a few minutes of the Airport, Mall at Robinson, Settler's Ridge Shopping Area, Ikea, and many, many other shopping and dining areas. You also have easy access to I-376 and Rt. 22 and are only a few miles from First Niagra Pavillion or downtown Pittsburgh. I have never had a bad experience staying at a Spring Hill Suites and this one was just as good as the rest.

some disappointment
My husband and I were somewhat dsaapointed in the bathroom area. There was what looked like mold around the tub area and the floor had little dings in it. also, there was a unpleasant odor in the room. Not so bad you couldnt be in there but it was not freshlike. same held true with the couch and chair. On the other had, the personnel were very gracious and helpful. Your breakfast buffet gives an excellent aray of food for even us who have to watch ourfood intake.

Ugly stay
I booked 2 rooms, one was acceptable. Second room had dirty stained sheets, hair in the bed, shower had used shampoo and soap left in it. The maid must have missed this room.

A let down
orange mold on the shower head indicates lack of cleaning. Mold takes awhile to develop and I certainly expect hotels to be clean. Hot tub was disgusting and pool was not meant for adults. It only had a 3ft and 4ft section was was slightly larger than a hot tub. This is not a place to stay for a couple's getaway. I selected it because we wanted a pool and that was such a disappointment. Staff needed to swipe my car, and asked tons of personal information. [...] Overheard staff tell a family they were out of cribs.

Great for a family
The set-up here was ideal for a single mom of a teen and recent college grad. Most hotel rooms in the area had only one king-sized bed over the weekend of the Fourth. Having a sleep sofa too was a life saver and we each had some of our own space in the suite. My son was happy with the Internet setup. The breakfast offered eggs, yummy sausage, homemade oatmeal, make-it-yourself waffles, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit etc etc.--tasty, filling and healthy. I liked the outdoor area next to the indoor pool but we were too busy to use it. Staff was helpful and friendly.
