Excellent location!

Went for anniversary and had a wonderful stay! The staff was very friendly! Parking at the hotel can be expensive though; $18 per day or $20 per day for an in and out pass. Can't beat the location - it's situated on the river in station square in close proximity to many great restaurants and nightclubs. It's also close to the inclines which take you to Mt. Washington for a breathtaking view of the city! Overall great experience!

Great location; ordinary room

It was convenient for our purpose which was to attend a reunion at the hotel. The room was rather small and ordinary for the price.

Nice place

Our family stayed at this location for it great view of Pittsburgh. Nice pool area which my boys loved. The flat screen tv is wonderful. I would say the parking is the only bad thing. It's 18.00 to park you can do in and out parking on the day you check in however you can't on the day you check out. We got up and wanted to go to breakfast but we couldn't leave and come back without paying 18.00 again. Needless to say we packed ip early and checked out before we wanted to.

No good

In Pittsburgh for the marathon. Wrong location to stay. No shuttle to the start line 1.5 miles away and no late checkout available. Very noisy old room air conditioner.

We hated this old & overpriced hotel

Needs serious updates. Wallpaper dirty. Mold in tub corner. Splatter on room mirror. Wasn't told on check-in that room key needed to use elevator. Very noisy. Food and drinks overpriced. Maid cleaning vomit off door across hall day we checked out. Wouldn't touch pool or sauna b/c if room was dirty didn't trust the rest. Should have stayed at the Omni which we stayed at last time.

In the Heart of the 'Burgh

This hotel sits right in the middle of Station Square, across the street from the incline and a short walk across the bridge to the downtown area. The room was very clean, adequate supplies, comfortable bed, etc. We have family in Pittsburgh, but no one has room for us to stay, so we checked in and then went out to visit cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. The area is much more convenient than other hotels in which we've stayed, and cut down our travel time quite a bit. The only problem I had was that the elevator security had broken on one elevator, and rather than shutting it down until they were able to fix the "swiper", they permitted it to run, which meant that anyone could get to the rooms above the check-in area. With the crime rate in this area, it didn't seem to be a good idea to me - it would have been better to force guests to use the one secure elevator. The other negative was the fact that we had to pay for parking in the hotel lot - there is a one-time fee if you know you will be moving your car quite a bit, and that was helpful. I rated them as "noisy" because of an incident that took place in the hallway outside our room in which guests got into a vulgar screaming match and the male had to be removed. (In case you read my review about the hotel in Chicago, there were actually two separate incidents, one right after the other, on this trip!!) This was disturbing, but security was on it right away - however, with the lack of security on the elevator, I had quite a bit of difficulty getting to sleep....

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Station Square facility is a combination of funky Pittsburgh-themed shops and excellent restaurants, and this hotel is right in the middle of it all.
