Quality Inn University Center

It was a place to stay that was close to the convention center. Nothing special, nothing terrible.

Swift check-in/check-out. Friendly staff. Clean room, although very small. Convenient access to Parkway, Schenley Park, Oakland, etc.

I stayed at this Quality Inn for a business trip. It was a little on the shabby side, but was perfectly clean and had everything I needed. A comfortable bed, an ironing board, a desk, coffee in room, and it was conveniently located to both the area I needed to visit for work (near Carnegie Mellon) and the areas in which I wanted to hang out in(the Cultural District and the South Side. It was also easily a hundred dollars less than all the other hotels even close to the city center. I would absolutely stay here again in Pittsburgh.

priced a little high for a dumpy outdated room.only setting on a window air conditioner was high , very outdated room, needed paint and a new carpet,would not stay there again,way over priced for what you get.

I have stayed here twice while visiting my daughter at Carnegie Mellon U. I love the location, about 5 minutes driving from CMU, even in traffic. It is nice to have a breakfast place downstairs as there are so few of them in Pittsburgh; my one wish for this hotel was a self laundry. I like to do my daughters laundry when I visit and I had to go out to do it. The staff is very friendly.

Could have had a pool for the price, but the room itself served its purpose. The only complaint is that the carpeting had some white powder-like stuff on it-not sure what is was but otherwise the room was clean and bathroom was clean.

My hat's off to the hotel staff...they did just about everything they could to dress up what is otherwise a very old and tired hotel property. Nice linens, flat screen TV and remodeled bathrooms are nice, but at the end of the day, this is an old property and it shows (thin walls...loud neighbors). Would I stay here again...maybe...but it wouldn't be my first choice.

This was the second time I stayed at this hotel. Staff is MOST helpful and pleasant. My favorite things are that the balcony sliding doors DO open and there's a bookcase in the lobby where folks can take or leave kids' books or reading to get one through an airport delay!

I only stayed at this hotel for one night thankfully, but it was not great. The pillows were mushy, the bed was hard, and I couldn't find an outlet near the bed to charge my phone. Probably wouldn't stay there again, but worked for what I needed.

This isn't a bad hotel. It could be a little cheaper but that's forgivable. The room was reasonably big with a desk and TV and full size bathroom. The place was clean and the staff were nice. BIG plus is that they have a computer in the lobby you can use for free and PRINT for free too. I hope they don't make the mistake of discontinuing this service. It's a Godsend if you don't happen to bring a laptop and/or smartphone. Not everybody has a smartphone and those who have laptops don't always bring them. Location wise, it's right next to U Pitt, though that wasn't my target. Mine was downtown. By cab you can get to the Lawrence Convention Center for about $9 but walk up a street or two and you can catch a bus. You can also catch 28X back to the airport when you're ready to go home. 28X will also get you downtown, not far from the Convention Center, just be sure to get off at that stop because the next is far away from it.
