Typical Motel

When I arrived, a bunch of people were having a BBQ in the parking lot with music. This didn't bother me at all and it didn't go late into the night, but I could see how travelers with children might not be happy. The police showed up at some point in the night - I'm not sure if that was related to the BBQ or not. It's not as if it was super loud though, I only noticed the police van when I went out to my vehicle - no sirens or flashing lights. On the bright side, the staff was friendly when I had questions. The room was clean. The internet and television worked fine. However, the shower must have been built only for people under 5' tall. Location could have been closer to Pittsburgh. Overall, you pay for what you get. It's fine if you just need a bed for a night.

Business

It was awful! I will never stay at a Motel6 again. The carpet was wet because they just finished scrubbing it as I got there. when I arrived and received my keycard, got to my room took my luggage out of the car and tried to open the door it would not open. I called the front desk from my cell phone she told me I would have to come back to the office to have the card redone so I had to put all my luggage back in the car to go to the office and then come back and unload again. There was NO air in the room. The ststem did not work, and it was very hot that night. It was a sweatbox. I was soaked with sweat all night as well as stiffling, I could not breathe. The windows would not even open. I called the front desk and was told it took time to cool but it never did. I got ice in the icebucket but it had no lid and being so HOT the ice melted in 15mins. All I wanted to do was relax and get a good nitght sleep neither of which I was able to do. The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work property either. I tried everything to get air in that room. I was tempted to go to another hotel but by this time it was late and I had to get up early. Needless to say I did not sleep all night. I kept opening the door to get some air but I was afraid to keep doing that because I was alone, so I put up with it. Again needless to say I was not fit for the important test I had to take the next day. Also there was no clock to even know what time it was. I had to keep my cell phone on so I could get the time. Also when I booked online my total was quoted as $43.99. When I arrived she charged me $50.15. I questioned it and was told, that is with tax. That seems like more tax then it should be. I don't know. But I do know one thing, that will be the last Motel6 I will ever stay at, I will tell everyone I know just what I told you. Thank You for your interest.

Good rate but don't expect too much

The guy at the front desk wasn't very friendly. Good rate but I had to switch rooms to get a PAID wifi. Come on! We still pay for wifi at hotels?? My room was unbearably hot and the day was kind of cold in Pittsburgh so I had to choose between sweating in the room or freezing outside!!! Front desk guy told me they had a problem with the air cooling system and that I should "open my window a little to get the cool air to come in the room"!

A Good, Honest Value. Clean, Wi-Fi Incl.

If you want a clean, decent room with fast wireless internet included in the price, and can drive a few miles to dine, then this place is an awesome value. My non-smoking room was comfy and nice, the full-size bed was cozy with fluffy pillows, the nice big TV had clear picture and sound (I watched CNN, animal planet, local stations, not sure what other channels there were), and the internet was GREAT, no problems. You have to get a password at front desk, then off you go on the world wide web. Great for business travelers and everyone else. Parked right in front of my room. The parking lot had some litter, cans and gum wrappers, nothing horrifying. Contrast to the room which was totally clean. The staff were great, very caring and attentive. Bring your own toothpaste and shampoo, but the free soap smells nice, and the furniture in my room was a lovely dark wood. Especially nice was the lighting - bright but soft. And a big desk with lamp for working. So, I think it's earned the good name, the carefree inn. If you want to pay a lot more so you don't have to pack shampoo or drive yourself to breakfast (and perhaps a few other things, like if you want a swimming pool), then you would have to stay in a different hotel. If you need a simple, clean, nice motel with a considerate staff and Wireless Internet included, then go to the Carefree Inn in Pittsburgh.
