modest accommodation

This was an ok place to stay but the staff and management was certainly not in a respectable form, sometimes even doing things that don't make sense financially, such as having an empty room chilled to 60 degrees, not properly managing a slippery spot on floor right outside elevator in lobby, ignoring requests for more front desk staff when one person was struggling to handle a dozen people in line AND the phones, and other staff, aware of this, were not coming out to help. This was also the place to be for travelers with dogs, for some reason.

Three negatives

Three negatives. There is no road sign that I saw. When looking for the place, I drove up and back 4 times before spotting the hotel way up on a tall hill . Not a big problem being on a hill, but there was no road sign letting me know where to turn in. I later found out there is three ways to get to it, two of them being through a mall and store parking lot, but again, NO SIGN showing me where an entrance is. I had to drive around through parking lots to find it. Second problem was one of the drives up to the hotel. The drive had a massive pothole that I ran into because I was looking ahead trying to see where the entrance to the hotel was. Third problem was I needed a wake up call at 6AM, and let the desk know and they never called. I had my phone that I used just in case so I managed to get up within 20 minutes of when I needed but then I had to hustle because I needed to get to the airport. I mentioned to the desk when I checked out, and a lady looked and sure enough it was marked down but no one ever called. I would have given the staff a perfect score because they were always very friendly and smiling, but when I cant even get a simple wake up call, that kind of ruined their score.

Dirty

I would recommend this hotel based on it's location only, however the bathroom was dirty and there was hair on the pillow cases (looked liked they needed to be changed.). The room could have been a lot cleaner and the hotel looks like it needs some updates.

overnighter

mostly the experience was good except for being awakened at 2am supposedly by o. because our second room had not yet been checked into by my son. the person on the phone said the called was originated by the hotel, the only problem with this is when i checked in i told the front desk that my son would be checking in very late.the manager told me they didn't make the call to o. so who is telling the truth?

Terrible Hotel

We recently tried to stay here for my younger brothers graduation. All other hotels were booked. I called the hotel earlier in the day prior to our arrival to let them know we would be coming in around midnight. When we arrived at 12:15am, after a long 4 hour drive, we were rudely informed that our room was not ready. Check in is at 3pm and at midnight our room was not ready? Absolutely ridiculous. The woman at the front desk was rude and told us to sit down over 3 times... I'm sorry but we were just sitting for 4 hours and all we wanted was to sleep in the bed that we had paid for. When we went upstairs to our room they were scrambling to make the bed, empty the trash and change out the towels. The room was disgusting. You couldn't pay me to stay there again. Oh also the curtains are not true curtains, they are sheer white covers that don't keep the room dark at all. Worst hotel experience ever.

LaQuinta North

The hotel was converted from a Holiday Inn to a LaQuinta. The lobby has been refreshed and is clean and modern. The rooms are clean and in generally good shape; however, some wear and tear in the bathrooms is obvious. The hotel is quiet during the week, but fills up and can be noisy on weekends - kids running in the halls and people returning to their rooms speaking loudly late at night. The noise from slamming doors due to the automatic door closers on each room is particularly irritating late at night.

Nice Place, great value, would stay again

This hotel has nice amenities, is clean, staff is friendly, provides a nice breakfast, has a bar if you don't want to go into the city, and is only 10 minutes from downtown. Great place to stay if you're coming into town for a Steelers game!

Great Value

Excellent accommodations for a very reasonable price. Great location and close to downtown but a bit difficult to find from the highway.

Below Average Stay

Hotel room was dated. Had to deal with people having an argument in the hallway at 2am in the morning. It lasted for over an hour until I went out and said something. Would have expected staff to be periodically patrolling the hotel, but appearantly they weren't. Breakfast had hot food which was nice, but the food was not very good.
