Boutique airport hotel with European flavor and designer touches
Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International does not look or feel like the kind of hotel travelers expect at a busy airport. The hotel was renovated in 2008 to reflect a European aesthetic and offer more upscale amenities, with an atmosphere and guest experience more like a high-end downtown hotel. Amenities range from complimentary shuttle to local business destinations to hypoallergenic guestrooms.
Highlights
- Pet-friendly property
- Adjacent to Pittsburgh International Hotel
- Newly updated fitness center
Rooms
All 336 guestrooms here include Hyatt Grand Beds, which feature a Sealy Posturepedic mattress made exclusively for Hyatt. (Guests who wish to can buy their own Hyatt Grand Bed.) Hypoallergenic Respire rooms are also available. Respire rooms come with an air-purification system and are cleaned with special products to reduce allergens. Pets are welcome to stay in guest rooms for a $30-per-day fee. Guests are not permitted to leave pets alone in rooms.
Features
Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International feels more like a high-end downtown inn than an airport hotel. The hotel is designed more as a destination where business travelers would want to have an extended stay for an executive retreat or important corporate meeting, not just as a place where those with a layover would sleep. Amenities range from Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and guestrooms with the Hyatt Grand Bed.
Regardless of what time of day guests prefer to exercise, the StayFit gym is open for them. The 24-hour-a-day free fitness center includes LifeFitness cardio equipment, such as treadmills and elliptical machines with integrated television screens, Life Cycle stationary bicycles, and free weights. Other cardio options include swimming laps in the adjacent lap pool.
On-site restaurant Olive Press offers contemporary American cuisine with local ingredients, while Olive Press Lounge serves cocktails and lighter fare. Coffee Press serves pastries and beverages from 5 a.m. till 11 a.m.

Most over-priced cheap hotel in town
Convenient? Yes. Worth the price? No. We stayed there twice, once coming into town, and once before departing Pittsburgh. Double beds aren't meant for two adults, broken (plastic) shower faucet, no coffee cups with coffeemaker, $1.50 per page to print at the Business Center, a sink set so far towards the mirror that I had to practically crawl onto the counter to brush my teeth,a rear entrance to the hotel with no ramp for your rollie bags, and a shower head in a locked position that made my husband hug the wall to get wet. Save your money and sanity. Stay somewhere else.

terrible management - greedy and rude
even though the room was prepaid when I arrived they did not have any rooms. They offered to give me a pullout couch however after I threatened to call the police and have them charged with theft they found a smoking room for me. My wife has a severe case of asthma and it was a difficult night for her. Neither of us were able to get much sleep and our flight was at 5;30 am. I will never, never use this hotel again.

My review of Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International Airport
We stayed here for the convenience of it's location next to the airport because of an early morning flight. Quite frankly, it's not worth the premium.

airport convenience
This hotel, attached to the Pittsburg Airport cannot be beaten for its convenience. However, it is gatting very shabby. The carpets are soiled and the decor needs updating. The internet servivice was a pain to connnect and took a service person to come to the room and make the connection. We had similar trouble a year before! On the other hand, the food was good, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly.

Should have been better
All I needed to to was get a good night's sleep before a very early flight. The location couldn't have been better, just a moving sidewalk away from the terminal. The check-in went fine, my room looked nice. I had a smoking room, right away I noticed there was no ashtray so I had to call down for one. There were all kinds of noises coming from either next door or upstairs, I was the end room so I don't know what was next door, perhaps a meeting room. But there was loud banging and vacuum cleaners, that type of noise. We're talking 7 or 8 o'clock at night. The TV was very hard to work, to just watch regular TV you had to go back to the main menu and start over everytime you wanted to change a channel. After accidently unplugging the clock I found that it was impossible to reset, thank goodness I had ordered a wake-up call. When I turned off the lights I noticed a lot of light coming from the hall. It turns out that on the hinge side of the door there was no weatherstripping so I could see a gap of perhaps a quarter inch into the hall. Needless to say not only did this let light in but hallway noises sounded like they were right next to me. I paid a lot for this room an I was very dissapointed that it was so rinky-dink.

Average
convinient location for short trips; a non smoking room but had stong cigarette smell which was very off putting. I checked in late around midnight and stayed in the room for only few hours, so didn't ask for a room change. Any way I was not sure if I would have gotten anything better.

Recent stay
I have stayed at this location on previous vacations, on those occassions, we found the hotel and staff to be exceptional. However, on this trip, there was a big difference in the attitude of the staff, I had one issue and it was not solved by your staff, I had to take care of it myself. The room was not cleaned as well during our staff, the top pillows were not placed on the bed daily, the glass we used was not cleaned and replaced. We noticed a bottle cap lying on the floor in the hallway for 2 days, it was still there when we left. I am concerned because I am booked there in January. I hope it will return to the atmosphere we enjoyed previously.

Feedback on Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh Int
The room was fine; except the bathroom had mold in the ceiling over the bath tub and the twoels were dump and humid. There were no shopping centers close by.

Dissappointment
I reserved 2 rooms for July 1st and requested the rooms to be near each other and a releative made a 1 room reservation and requested to be near my 2 rooms. This DID NOT HAPPEN. My 2 rooms were on the 10th floor and the relative's 1 room was on the 7th floor, not exactly close. I called the hotel about 2 days before we all arrived and again was told the rooms would all be close!! Even my 2 rooms on the 10th floor were not next to each other.Another problem was the vending machines on many of the floors. Most were broken and we had to go from floor to floor to find a bottle of water. There was a bottle of water in the room but it had a price tag of $4.50 (really, for the price of the room the water should have been complimentary!!).We chose the Hyatt because we were flying out the airport the next morning, so I guess we were at the pleasure of the hotel's wishes.I would like to compliment the ladies at the front desk, they were very friendly.Judith McDonoughjmacwv[@]
