Boutique airport hotel with European flavor and designer touches
Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International does not look or feel like the kind of hotel travelers expect at a busy airport. The hotel was renovated in 2008 to reflect a European aesthetic and offer more upscale amenities, with an atmosphere and guest experience more like a high-end downtown hotel. Amenities range from complimentary shuttle to local business destinations to hypoallergenic guestrooms.
Highlights
- Pet-friendly property
- Adjacent to Pittsburgh International Hotel
- Newly updated fitness center
Rooms
All 336 guestrooms here include Hyatt Grand Beds, which feature a Sealy Posturepedic mattress made exclusively for Hyatt. (Guests who wish to can buy their own Hyatt Grand Bed.) Hypoallergenic Respire rooms are also available. Respire rooms come with an air-purification system and are cleaned with special products to reduce allergens. Pets are welcome to stay in guest rooms for a $30-per-day fee. Guests are not permitted to leave pets alone in rooms.
Features
Hyatt Regency Pittsburgh International feels more like a high-end downtown inn than an airport hotel. The hotel is designed more as a destination where business travelers would want to have an extended stay for an executive retreat or important corporate meeting, not just as a place where those with a layover would sleep. Amenities range from Wi-Fi throughout the hotel and guestrooms with the Hyatt Grand Bed.
Regardless of what time of day guests prefer to exercise, the StayFit gym is open for them. The 24-hour-a-day free fitness center includes LifeFitness cardio equipment, such as treadmills and elliptical machines with integrated television screens, Life Cycle stationary bicycles, and free weights. Other cardio options include swimming laps in the adjacent lap pool.
On-site restaurant Olive Press offers contemporary American cuisine with local ingredients, while Olive Press Lounge serves cocktails and lighter fare. Coffee Press serves pastries and beverages from 5 a.m. till 11 a.m.

Good airport hotel
Pittsburg is a small airport and the hotel is an easy walk. Clean comfortable rooms. Its above average for an airport hotel. The staff was pleasant during my 6 hour stay.

Great airport location
We stayed here while on a college visit. This is a great hotel for access to the airport. You will pay the airport parking fee if you have a rental car. A continental breakfast would have been nice. The pool and hot tub were wonderful for break times. I would stay here again.

Pittsburgh Trip 2011
Great hotel and it doesn't get any more convenient if you need to stay near the airport. Downsides are that you have to use airport parking if you rent a car and will have to pay for parking. The P-burgh airport is west of town so you will have to battle traffic and the tunnels to get downtown.

Fun Weekend
Hotel is next to the airport. The wlkway is close and the staff we encountered were all professional and friendly. It is about 20 miles to downtown, but with an early flight the next day, it was an easy way to get to the plane without delays. Would stay there again.

Most over-priced cheap hotel in town
Convenient? Yes. Worth the price? No. We stayed there twice, once coming into town, and once before departing Pittsburgh. Double beds aren't meant for two adults, broken (plastic) shower faucet, no coffee cups with coffeemaker, $1.50 per page to print at the Business Center, a sink set so far towards the mirror that I had to practically crawl onto the counter to brush my teeth,a rear entrance to the hotel with no ramp for your rollie bags, and a shower head in a locked position that made my husband hug the wall to get wet. Save your money and sanity. Stay somewhere else.
