Great spot

What a view! The view from our room was beautiful. Airports around other hotels have seemed noisy and intrusive, not so here, it was a pleasure to look out our window. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. After a very difficult travel day, the desk staff and restaurant staff were a welcome sight. Great beds and great food. Would definitely stay again.

You Cannot Sleep Well In That Hotel

This hotel is disappointing. There was no central air-conditioning. Instead there was a loud A/C system in the room. If I turned it on, I could not sleep because of its loud noise at 60 decibels. If I turned it off, I could not sleep either because the room would become hot and humid enough for you to sweat. I thought of opening the window for fresh air so that I didn't need the air-conditioning. The opening leaf of the window had been screwed to the frame and could not be opened. There was no refrigerator either. There was not a stool for luggage. We were a party of three but were given only two sets of towels. I was disappointed that for that price and for that brand name I got an uncomfortable room. No one got enough sleep in the night.

Fabulous Inside, Rough Terrain Outside

The staff was exceptionally professional & personable. The room was beautiful & well cared for-- lights worked, outlets worked. Great counter space around the sink in the bathroom, nice shower. There was a bit of a "stale" smell in the room, but nothing worth gagging over. Pillows/bedding were fantastic. The only complaint I have is the terrain of the parking area. It's very steep and "hilly," and quite a distance from the parking area to the hotel entrance, which, especially if it's raining, makes navigating yourself and your luggage quite difficult from your parked car to the hotel entrance. Women in heels, beware!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Out of the hotel driveway entrance to the right, past the other 2 hotels there on the same side of the street, there is a place for breakfast called Eggs n'at next to an airport parking place. It's a small local diner, the food is amazing, and the prices are reasonable.

People warm and friendly - weather NOT!

Very pleasant experience. All of the Staff know the neighborhood area they are located in. And they answered my questions especially the one about finding a place to buy good old fashion Isly's Chipped Ham and Mancini's Italian bread to make a good 'comfort food' sandwich. Only problem is I ran out of time. So next time I'll be sure to get the fixings. I was in Moon Township for the OLSH Legacy Gala being held in this hotel. Making my stay very convenient and relaxing.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you want good 'home' cooking like fried mush or a pot roast sandwich there is a Bob Evans Restaurant across the street from this Holiday Inn. You could walk or drive depending on the weather and time of day/night. If you prefer to stay in and eat at the hotel the Iron City Grille has tasty food and fun atmosphere. If you don't understand the sport being shown on TV someone there will be glad to share the information. Penguins were playing for the 2010 Stanley Cup. Also the hotel's dining room served each morning breakfast food that was very fresh with a good varity of food including fresh fruit. AND a very pleasant, cheerful Staff. If you had special dietary needs they did all they could to make sure your request was honored. Really nice people.

Steelers Game

I took my boyfriend to Pittsburgh to see a Steelers game and this hotel was the one i booked. Getting there was super easy and once we were there it was cozy, very relaxing and the staff was great. Its also very close to the city and was just a simple 10 minute drive to the stadium. I also loved that there were restaraunts and small food places within 2 miles of the hotel. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were a little small and slightly outdated, the shower was also a little cramped. Other than that it was extremely clean and nice. I'd recommend this place to anyone going to the Pittsburgh area.

Airport hotel

We picked this hotel to be near the airport, and the price was right. We had a connecting room to our children which was good. The breakfast is great, and firplace in front room is good. Beds were comfortable.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

We were there from Sat-Tues. During the weekend it only took us about 15 minutes to get to downtown Pittsburgh. On Mon we had a tour of Pittsburgh at 9:45 am. so we left the hotel at 8:55 thinking rush hour traffic would be done by 9 in the morning but it was horrible! We barely got there in time. So give yourself enough time on weekday mornings!!
