Terrible
The hotel was dirty, There was no hot water and nobody cared. The breakfast buffet was way too expensive for what it offered.

Visit with family
Let me start on a positive note, the hotel was very clean and the basic ammenaties were met. I was very disappointed however that when we arrived at the hotel at about 6 pm on the day we were set to check in, the employee at the front desk checked us in no problems, however, when we got to our assigned room we found that instead of the room with 2 queen sized beds that we booked, in it there was 1 king sized bed. We had 4 people in the room, my wife, myself, my 16 year old daughter, and my 9 year old son. We immediately went downstairs and explained our problem, which we just assumed was a minor oversight. We were informed that since we were the last people to check in we got the last room. We were shocks as we assumed that since we booked a double that we would get a double. The front desk was very non-chalant about it and really offered no solutions to our issue. We were stuck as Orbitz precharges the credit card, so going to another hotel was out of the question. The employee at the desk finally offered us a roll away bed to use and brought extra towels. We also had a dog with us because it was a pet freindly hotel, however even though it was not disclosed to us, my card was charged 2 $50 charges for 1 dog?? I would also like to mention that their were card key entrance doors on all 4 sides of the hotel, however, the door on the far end of the hotel was broken and would open to anyone card or no card, this could create a security issue since anyone could gain access to this hotel card holder or not. We planned this trip with the plan of spending time with relatives in the area, which we did do, so that part of the trip was well worth it. I just feel that the hotel staff could have done more to help us correct the issues we had, and really gave the air of take it or leave it. Had my card not been precharge I would have left it.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Growing up in the Pitburgh area there are 2 major eating establishments that I always try to go to, both are top notch. 1) Primenti Brothers at the Strip district and 2) Vincent's Pizza park in Forest Hills both are extremely good and make the trip memorable.

The Birthday Getaway
My husband purchased a 3 night stay at this hotel for me for my birthday, which I thought was very beautiful! The hotel didn't have any accomodations for romance. I advised the front desk that my husband was partially paralyzed in his leg & she saw him with his cane, but she still put us on the 4th floor at the very end of the floor, completely at the oposite end of the only elevator. Also, we ordered 1 meal from room service & it came to $50, which we could afford, but we didn't order any drinks or champage (which was not offered). Only wine & beer was offered. The hotel only had 2 place where we could order from & since we were dropped off by a driver there wasn't anywhere we could go & we weren't offered any information on transportation from the hotel. What we did like about the hotel is that is was very clean and well organized. There needed to be a fan in the bathroom for the steam from the shower and the walls from the connecting room was a little thin, but the room was ok.

I would advise that if you are visiting this hotel to make sure you have a rental car or a number to a cab company or driving service. This hotel is in an area that is not in walking distance of any transportatiion or stores and it seems as though this hotel is secluded from from everything, so be prepared.

Pittsburgh Airport Four Points by Sheraton
The shuttle came promptly when I called but waited about 20 minutes in the airport for a crew (who had called ahead?) But we were checked in smoothly and quickly. The room what just what we needed and expected: a clean, quiet, comfortable place to sleep for six hours before our early flight left. The wakeup call came on time, our bill was settled and under the door before we woke, and the shuttle was ready to go as soon as we reached the desk. We were the only guests on the 5 am shuttle. And although we booked at $95, the charge to our credit card came to $88. All that we needed and hoped for.

A nice stay
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Bad first- Breakfast was NOT free, the hotel has a restaurant in it and the want you to pay for it. The hotel has a "going green" idea. They are trying to conserve water and will not change your sheets everyday unless you put the "clover" card on the bed. I put mine on the bed because I ate in the bed and spilled syrup in it. That night when I returned to the hotel they made the bed but didn't change the sheets. Location is 20 minutes away from downtown, traffic was backed up for miles. If you have a gps use it to avoid the highway. The good- The hotel was clean Food at restaurant was great and affordable Staff was kind and helpful Overall a great stay for a wonderful price. I would absolutely stay here again.

Nice place to stay
The hotel was very clean and the room was nice. The service staff were friendly. The location was great, it was easliy accessible from the highway. Far enough away from downtown Pittsburgh for peace and quiet but close enough to all the activity with a short drive. The breakfast buffet wasn't very good, but the dinner we had from room service was great. Overall a very nice stay. I would stay there again.

Nice plce to stay!
This hotel is truly "nestled away" on a hilltop as described. There are no stores or restaurants within walking distance of the hotel-everything is within 5/10 minutes away once you drive down off the hilltop. The hotel and the staff were fantastic and made our stay very pleasant. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been a continental breakfast of some sort--Was Surprised that they had none, just free coffee in the lobby from 3am - 11am.

Modern, Nice, Good Loc. w/car or for air
The hotel is posh and modern with architectural photographs adorning the rooms and halls along with elegant browns and cream tones. The staff are helpful and friendly and the prices are reasonable both in the restaurant ($8 for Sunday breakfast buffet) and for the rooms themselves ($89 for two queens). The staff were friendly and not at all put out by our two children (6 mo. and 3 years). The hotel is a quick 15-25 minute drive(depends on traffic) to downtown Pitt. We have stayed twice and plan to stay there for all of our trips to Pitt. The negatives are that the hotel isn't as clean as it could be-- if you look closely in the hallways, there are dust bunnies and wrappers behind the furniture; the first time we stayed our room was not cleaned (it was really gross in the bathroom) and we asked for a new room. The hotel promptly gave us a new room, but didn't really offer an apology. If you stay in hotels often enough, these types of things eventually happen. I am picky and I decided to stay there again, so it must have been a nice experience. The second time we stayed our room key had to be re-set each day, which was annoying, but the hotel is quite nice for the price and the staff is really friendly.

Bad choice
Check in was fine. Carpet going to room on third floor was beat up. Bathroom was okay.... Shower head was broken, I had to hold in my hand and then put in tub to soap....reach down in tub to get shower head to rinse. Not good.... Good showers are most important. The room itself was fine, the bed comfortable. The biggest problem is it's location. Extremely hard to find, and a long way from the airport to be title,d an airport hotel. I rate this hotel a 1 star max!
