Superb suites, rooms, and services smack dab in the city center
Doubletree recently renovated this city center pet-friendly hotel's 308 rooms, which include 112 one-bedroom suites. The hotel claims to have some of the city's biggest guest rooms. Every room has a pillow-topped bed. Other claims to fame include the on-site restaurant Bigelow Grille. Twice since 2007 Pittsburgh Magazine named the Grille to be in the top 25 restaurants in the city. The hotel offers guests many freebies, such as complimentary Wi-Fi, free shuttle service throughout downtown, and Wolfgang Puck coffeemakers in each room.

great hotel for the money

Hockey night in Pittsburgh
The stay was ok, it was a nice walk over to the Consol Energy Center, but the hotel bar was terrible for after game drinks. No atmoshere and the bar menu was lousy...ended up going up to tailgaters a Pittsburgh bar up the street.

This hotel was basically clean however, could use a real deep cleaning. It had a moldy smell. For breakfast we had it at the Grille and all the coffee cups had dirt or coffee stains in them. Of course they replaced them but I just felt like they needed to pay a little more attention to details to create a great customer experience.

Great location and experience!
Overall great experience at the Double Tree! Walking distance to great places in downtown Pittsburgh. Staff very friendly.

This hotel was nice but nothing extravagant. The room was clean and tidy however temp in room was pretty chilly. Overall, the hotel was nice except for the breakfast buffet which was a joke. 3 chafing dishes of hot food and some fruit...this needs work.

Pen's game.
Hotel was in a fantastic location. Convenient to everything downtown. Staff was quick and curteous. A tad pricey, but you'll have that at downtown hotels.

Great for sporting events
Had a very easy entrance/exit, one block from hockey arena, shuttle to stadium for football. Clean, comfortable, and quiet.
