Great and Terrible at the same time
Pro's: Close to many different restaurants and shopping. Also approx 15 mins to PNC Park and other downtown attractions. Pool was nice and warm. Many hotel pool are freezing. Breakfast has several options. Con's: Awful front desk staff. Young kids who did not even try to act like they care about moving quick or answering simple questions. Check in was extremely long especially since the room is already paid for. The hotel is under construction, however lets try to make sure THERE ARE NO NAILS/SCREWS IN THE HALLWAY.

decent rooms, nice beds, cold pool. A little price for not being close to Pittsburgh. No wireless internet.

Nice find for an overnight stay
We stayed here twice now, was nice to find a hotel to stay at not far from Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh. We had stayed at the Holiday Inn at University Center the first time and it was so noisy and busy, plus more expensive for drinks in the lounge, that This Holiday Inn was a nice surprise. Yes, it needs some updating, but it was clean and comfortable.

Hotel review for Pittsburgh 10/25/09
My room was located next to the highway and it was extremely noisy. I don't know about other rooms but there is a possibility other rooms could be as noisy as the hotel is located right next to the highway.

Nice place to stay
This hotel was perfect for our needs. It was neat and comfortable and situated right off a main highway. The service was fast and friendly. I was upset that the restaurant was closed but besides that it was just what we needed.

Quite with good location.
If you want to be in the city with all the happenings at you fingertips this may not be the spot for you. However, this hotel was still very convenient! I was able to get to all of the fun activities in the city within 5 minutes and saved a bundle of money over the cost of staying downtown. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The property is situated of the highway enough that it was very quite at night. It was very hot while I was in Pittsburgh so making use of the pool was important to me. The pool is located in an solarium with a opening roof. The water was overly chlorinated but was still acceptable. I guess you have to expect that in a hotel pool. I would stay at this hotel again.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Hotel has easy and convenient access to downtown's many attractions and easy access to the turnpike for the drive out to the Frank Lloyd Wright house Falling Water and off to Hershey or Philly.

A slight drawback...
The hotel was average, except in dining options which were limited, but the drawback which affected me most was the lack of transportation to and from the airport.
