Needs to close during restoration

The location was perfect that is why I picked it. But it was being restored and it was a mess, not dirty but some doors did not have signs, and there was drywall in the hallways. The dinning room had paper covering where there was mold growing until they could get to it. The breakfast was just alright, the eggs with cheese was uneatable ( and I eat everything). The sink in the bathroom was tall but they put the toilet paper holder in the front, so I had to stand on my tiptoes to reach the water and even then I could bearly touch the stream of water. They need to move the toilet paper to the side of the sink. I will not stay at that hotel ever again.

Staying a bomb drop

Massive renovation that's been going on for years. Outside of building is scary. We wouldn't have stayed - but no time to find new location. Don't know if policies would have let us move.

Under construction...

The Clarion is currently undergoining a remodelling, something we weren't told when we booked. The office has been moved to the back of the hotel, into one of the rooms. There is only one elevator and it is slow, jerky, dirty, and scary. It was also a very long walk from the elevator to the room and back. All that said, the location is very convenient to downtown, the staff were very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was better than average. Once the construction is complete, this will be a great place to stay.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you're headed downtown, use the Greentree on-ramp, not Poplar Street. The Poplar on-ramp is dangerous!

God Aweful!

Upon our arrival we passed the hotel, as it appeared to be closed - and boarded up. The office was set up in one of the rooms. The entire property is under construction. Although the rooms appeared to be clean. (I checked before committing to stay) the bathtub did not drain, nor did the sink. By morning there was a muddy film covering the bottom of the sink, much like silt from a nasty river. I pitty anyone that attempted to drink the water!! We did have a coffee maker in the room, but it apparently did NOT come with a pot??? Fortunately we returned to the room late, and left early the next morning. Can't say I tried the breakfast, nor did I utilize the fitness center. I just needed to leave ASAP.

Good but is Under renovation

Hotel, it located at a beautiful place. But This hotel is currently under renovation. For this scenario the cost seemed a bit high.

Under renovation

They should have provided info up front that they were under going renovation. When I arrived I was about the only customer, they said they could not refund, change or cancel my reservation. I would have stayed somewhere else. I would not recommend this hotel, maybe after they are done with the renovation.

So-so

The hotel is under construction which makes it somewhat unwelcoming. The biggest problem we had was we booked a king size room but was given a room with 2 double beds. The hotel receptionist did not make any attempt to correct the issue.
