Not amazing, but not bad
This hotel is really pretty decent for the price. It's not the cleanest around, but it definitely works, and the rooms have mini-kitchens. I'd stay here again for a short trip.

Upgrades and Renovations Make It A Winner
I stayed at this same hotel about a year ago, and while I was satisfied with my stay, the recent upgrade and renovation to the rooms make this a very good value. They really feel like a suite now, and the furniture and art/decor really upped the quality in a big way. Now if they would only put in a business center, this place would have merited 5 stars. Recommended.

Leaves something to be desired
While the room looked clean there was faint odor present. The hallways, stairs and elevators were dirty with dried mud and empty food containers which left bad odors in the halls. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is convenient to airport and selection of restaurants and shops.

Great place to stay for a Steeler game.
Went to the Steeler game and needed a place to stay. Was a great value and only 10 minutes from the Heinz Field and half the price of staying down town.

Not perfect, good bang for buck however
For 79 bucks a night, you cannot go wrong. Has a nice comfortible bed, the bathroom is expanded and not cramped. The tub is small but most travelers take showers. My room was very clean, however you are your own maid if you chose to change linens and unclutter after our first night. The cleaning is done weekly or between guests. That did not sour me, I am not a slob to begin with and you could change sheets out if you desired. laundry right on site. If you want to spend over 169 a night and have daily cleaning so be it, I would rather put the 90 bucks in my pocket and tidy up myself. Plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area. If you like upscale, Station Square area is 10 minutes up the highway, most of the south side is very nice. Also easy access to hotel no sweat, only outdoor parking, about 12 minutes from airiport. The workout room is bigger than expected. Some people complained about the lack of a continental breakfast, I get it. But there is a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster and coffe maker right in the room, I like that option for a few reasons. FIrst off you can hit Super Wal Mart or Target and get fresh food and produce both wsalking distances away. Secondly, nobody else handles your food except yourself. The pantry on site is not bad, I just pefer more variety. Pots, pans, dishes right in the room with a dishwasher. Just and option, most people eat out when they travel, but sometimes it's nice to just chill out, watch tv and make something quick. without waiting for a table or fighting traffic. The firdge is nice too, keep cold beverages in the room instead of getting ripped off at a soda machine every time you're thirsty.

Steeler fans, you are 12 minutes away from Station Square. Take the gateway clipper over to the game, 10 bucks round trip, parking in the lot is 10 bucks.

Friendly Staff
The hotel itself is fine. Ordinary. Perfectly acceptable. We appreciated the workout room. What we really appreciated was the friendly staff. Everyone we dealt with was very accommodating and very friendly. Also, the location is super close to everything--shopping, dining, nightlife, airport. We would stay there again.

Airport Ease
This was my second stay at a Candlewood Suite and it was a pleasant one. Having a 42 lb. dog makes finding a good, clean and comfy facility difficult, so I am quite grateful for this chain. And having ample green space to take the dog walking is a real plus. It is affordable and the staff helpful and pleasant. I wish that they had rollaway beds that one could rent. My daughter flew in to surprise us while we were there (Pittsburgh) and there was no place for her to stay as we were not in the one bedroom. And the hotel was completely booked! But having to fly out at the crack of dawn with the airpot only an exit away, made Candlewood extra appealing.

Short drive from hotel
This Candlewood on Chauvet Drive, Pittsburgh is outside of the city in an area surrounded by malls. The drive into the city only takes 18 minutes (late at night or early in the morning). Any other time there can be incredible traffic to and from the city. So if you have reservations, theater or sport tickets, or an appointment, factor in what could be a 45 minute trip into the city. We met with bumper to bumper traffic.

Not bad
This hotel was great. The room could have been a little cleaner but really nothing terrible. The tub, toilet and bed seemed to have been totally clean, that was the important part to me! The staff was excellent! Answered all of my questions and were very friendly. The location was fine. It seemed to be a good midway point between downtown and the airport. We enjoyed shopping in the Robinson Town Center shopping plaza.
