very pleasant stay

One of the best stays I've had at not a bad price considering big city, busy weekend, and proximity to everything. Was ... upgraded to suite but believe regular rooms are also good. Two decent restaurants on premises. Only wired internet in rooms but free wireless in lobby. Would return without hesitation if I could get it in similar price range.

Grand Olde Hotel
Iron Maiden Nov 20, 2009
Beautiful old hotel right in downtown Philly. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Room had a full small kitchen in it which I ... missed when I booked, so I was plesantly surprised when I opened my door and that made the price I paid a steal! Pool is on roof and was closed, but is small. Drains were very slow and I was on the 7th floor. 31$ for parking is freaking ridiculous but I wanted my car safe, not in an alley. All in all I will stay there again.

Many historical sites to visit in Philadelphia. Most are within walking distance of the central part of the city. But in case you need to use it, the public transportation system is efficient (take the trolley; it winds through every historical site available).

Wonderful Stay in Philadelphia
V. Lazaro Oct 26, 2009
The staff was remarkably helpful and courteous throughout our stay. I was traveling with my family which includes a 2 year ... old and a 10 year old. The room we were assigned was clean and family-friendly. It was spacious (giving the 2 year old plenty of room to play) and even had a mini-kitchen complete with microwave, refrigerator, and a sink. The hotel served a continental breakfast that was a hit with the kids. The staff person assigned to the breakfast room was wonderully accommodating and friendly. All in all, this made for a great getaway in Philadelphia.

Fine Hotel w Some Rough Edges
Mark from NY Oct 26, 2009
Outstanding employees - friendly, engaging, gracious. Invited me to upgrade my room for a modest price. I was glad that I ... did. The room was quite lovely except it didn't seem evident how to regulate the temperature. The desk chair was inoperable and shabby. Although these are two minor points, they are important to note as the rooms are a bit dated in appearance. No hair dryer in bathroom, but they did have free internet.

More than I expected
Radio Bill Sep 26, 2009
The Windsor Suites was more than I expected. It is an older establishment and with that I expect small rooms, limited ... service, etc. The room was HUGE! Two queen beds, effiency kitchen with full size refrig and stove, two big walk in closets, nice size bath, and full size coffee pot! The staff was attentive, check in was a breeze. Great little local tavern next door. Only 5 short blocks from Convention Center. If you are looking for room service, a robe in the bath, turn down service, etc, go to the expensive hotels down the street. But, if you aren't looking for those things that drive up the price of your stay and instead want an inexpensive, comfortable, quaint place in the heart of Philly, this might be what you're looking for. I'll be back.

Perfect location for a tourist. We did miles of walking so would have liked a spa by the pool for a relaxing session at days ... end. Good bar and resturant. We liked having a small kitchen to keep beverages and fruit cold. The front desk personnel were all very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and would recommend it for anyone. We were able to leave our luggage after check out to do more sightseeing before needing to depart for the airport.

My husband and I were there for an overnight stay. We were a bit leary because of the low cost; however it was a very good ... value; spacious room; good view and quick and easy check in and check out. We asked for a late checkout and got it with courtesy and a smile. We travel frequently and are somewhat picky but we would definitely go back.

Great Location
Tom Aug 13, 2009
When we arrived at the Windsor suites, our room wasn't the best. There were suspicious stains on the wall and a view of a ... roof. After some complaints, the very patient and kind staff gave us the option of two larger rooms with great views of Philly. The man who showed us to our room was kind enough to give us his opinion on the best place to get a cheesesteak! The Windsor is in the middle of the great tourist attractions. The Comcast Center is right behind the hotel, and three trolley stops are within walking distance from the hotel. I highly reccomend the Windsor!

Sherry Aug 11, 2009
We had a great stay. The Windsor Suites staff was super helpful and so very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. ... My 9 year old son really enjoyed the roof top pool. The hotel was within walking distance of all the museums that we were in the city to visit and many others that we just didn't have time to see. The only negative comment I have is regarding the parking charge but that seems to be pretty common for hotels in this area. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.

Nope, not again
MilitaryMom Jul 18, 2009
Not again! I Booked this hotel because of location and booked it again because I was coming back in a couple of days. This is ... a great example that pricy does not mean nicy! I walked in late and wanted to shower and go to sleep for work in the morning. I liked the bathroom and the decor but as soon as I laid down the bed was not comfortable and at 1030 my bed started rocking!! The walls are like mobile trailer walls and the bed is attached to the wall so when your neighbor rocks the bed, so does yours! The picture frame on the wall over the bed was bouncing off the walls and I thought it was going to fall on my head. Then they were slamming doors and scratching the walls, it was crazy I wanted out. The desk lady sent me a key to another room and it was a handicapp room that was a lot more spacious and nicer than the regular rooms. I laid down and even the bed was more comforatble, I slept like a baby. [...] I paid my $25 cancellation fee and booked another hotel for the next following days.

Great Location, Great Price
Krys Jul 6, 2009
Hotel rooms and service was very good overall. Access to car was excellent, price for rooms was very good, did not eat in ... retaurant, do not care for Asian food. Staff very helpful and polite. Internet service in room not very good. Would highly recommend for large family or group traveling to see sights in Philadelphia. We chose for closeness to hospital for family member that was having procedure done. We had been there before, and liked it so we chose to stay again.
