Spacious Room! Comfy Bed! Great Service
MLD Nov 29, 2009
There for the holidays to visit family. The room was very nice and comfortable. French doors added great ambience. Wood ... finishings a little worn. Great to have two tvs in the suite. Bed was great! Food and service very good! Location spectacular. Only complaint is that a late afternoon shower was delayed as it took 15 minutes for water to get hot!

Good location and very nice room. The feather bed takes some getting used to, and the duvet cover was too hot for us. We ... had a junior suite so our son could come from college (19yo) and spend Thanksgiving weekend with us and see the sights of Philadelphia. Very nice fitness room. They will allow up to 2 dogs per room, if you are traveling with your animals.

Good Value - not so great service
MAM Nov 29, 2009
The rooms are great at the Sofitel - quite large and very comfortable. Unfortunately, on both mornings we attempted to eat ... at Chez Colette, we were kept waiting despite the obvious availability of many tables. On the first morning, we waited for 15 minutes and left. On the second morning, we were asked if we had a reservation (for breakfast?) and were then told - with a half-empty restaurant - that the wait would be 15 minutes.

First Class Hotel

I travel several times a year to Philadelphia and have stayed at the Sofitel since I "discovered" it. The king mini suites ... are spacious and well designed for the business traveler, with a seating area for business conversations. The bed is comfortable and the furnishings tasteful. Room service is prompt and the food is a cut above. I will continue to stay there.

disappointed
weekend traveler Oct 31, 2009
planned a romantic night with my husband. We were disappointed in the bathroom. Finished my shower before water got hot ... enough to even make steam. Same with trying to fill a bubble bath. Bathroom was pretty, but stone floor also made it cold. Kept looking for a heat light to warm it up. We just expected better for the price.

My Go To Hotel In Philly!!
Oz Oct 29, 2009
Came here in July and i loved it, came back in Oct and i still love it! i came to philly to visit my bf and wanted to stay ... somewhere that was near food, shopping, the city and tourist stuff. this place is perfect. its a little upscale, which i like. shopping was the next street down (2 H&M's!) China Town/ Redding Market is a brisk 15min walk away. The airport is about 15-20mins away with no traffic, and the concierge guys are AMAZING. they will help you with any question you have (help get concert tickets, reccomend a place to eat, get you a shuttle to the airport, etc) room service is a bit pricey and when i came in july valet was a bit of a pain, but i would def come again!

Mom of college student Oct 26, 2009
During our stay in Philadelphia we toured all the museums, historical sights and unique areas, as well as the University of ... Pennsylvania campus. This hotel was in a great central location, with access to the subways for far off destinations but also within walking distance of many destinations. There was great shopping and dining within close proximity of the hotel.

My fiancee and I stayed at the hotel because it was right across the street from where we attended a wedding at Davio's. The ... room could have been cleaned better but the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was ok but it too could have been cleaned a little bit better for a luxury hotel.

Bumpy Start, but ended Fabulous
MaryV Sep 21, 2009
Our husbands had a conference at another hotel a couple of blocks away, so we chose Sofitel for location to their conference, ... shopping and dining. However, upon arrival on a late Tuesday night, front staff informed us our rooms were taken (this was prepaid rooms from 4 weeks ago!) They gave us a free night at the Sheraton and a cab ride. Sheraton is obviously not the same as the luxury-Sofitel. I had to get on the phone with Orbitz and ask for a room comp (since deal was stay 3 nights; get one free at Sofitel). It took half a day, but [...] at Orbitz customer service was extremely helpful in negotiating with Sofitel's reservations manager, so we will get a credit for an additional night. We ended up with 2 larger Suites for our troubles and some pastries and bottled water. After our room issues were resolved, Sofitel proved to be a nice, quiet hotel and has a fabulous locaton for the theatre, fine shopping and great local food!

Great Hotel!!!
walrus Sep 20, 2009
This hotel was great for what I was looking for, a good location to walk around the Rittenhouse square section of the city. ... The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I was upgraded to a suite upon arrival. The only negatives were that the valet parking was a little overpriced 30 dollars the night (for the 16 hours I stayed there I could have found a lot nearby for cheaper) and the walls were a little thin, as you could hear music coming from another room. Other than that the hotel is great, staff is friendly and the bar is reasonably priced, considering its location.

grostord Sep 20, 2009
I was there for work The hotel is great and well located. However I was located in a room just above the wedding on saturday ... and the music was very loud until 23:30hres. I did inquire to change room and no other room according to them. I could not sleep. I think they or should not have me pay the room or at least make sure they do not offer these rooms that are there to work.
