Autumn in Philly
During our stay in Philadelphia we toured all the museums, historical sights and unique areas, as well as the University of Pennsylvania campus. This hotel was in a great central location, with access to the subways for far off destinations but also within walking distance of many destinations. There was great shopping and dining within close proximity of the hotel.

Spacious Room! Comfy Bed! Great Service
There for the holidays to visit family. The room was very nice and comfortable. French doors added great ambience. Wood finishings a little worn. Great to have two tvs in the suite. Bed was great! Food and service very good! Location spectacular. Only complaint is that a late afternoon shower was delayed as it took 15 minutes for water to get hot!

Sofitel Philadelphia
Good location and very nice room. The feather bed takes some getting used to, and the duvet cover was too hot for us. We had a junior suite so our son could come from college (19yo) and spend Thanksgiving weekend with us and see the sights of Philadelphia. Very nice fitness room. They will allow up to 2 dogs per room, if you are traveling with your animals.

Good Value - not so great service
The rooms are great at the Sofitel - quite large and very comfortable. Unfortunately, on both mornings we attempted to eat at Chez Colette, we were kept waiting despite the obvious availability of many tables. On the first morning, we waited for 15 minutes and left. On the second morning, we were asked if we had a reservation (for breakfast?) and were then told - with a half-empty restaurant - that the wait would be 15 minutes.

Good for good kids too
Ours was a combo business and pleasure trip. My husband and I and our three small children were more than comfortable here. Even though it's technically not permitted, we were able to easily fit two travel cribs in the room with us. The housekeeping staff was incredible. They even folded the baby blankets and propped the stuffed animals on the bed. The valets and bellman were also extremely accommodating, helping us with all our extras anytime we needed it. During our stay, the hotel was almost completely booked due to a city-wide convention, and you never EVER noticed that certain kind of stress I've seen from hotel staff during those kinds of events. They handled things like an overflow of checked bags and an influx of valet requests with patience and professionalism. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone considering a stay in downtown Philly.
