Trip to Philadelphia

The location of this hotel is perfect. Very close to the university. Many restorants are a walking distance from the hotel. The Korean restorant in the hotel seems very popular, but I am not used to Korean food. Over all it was a good experience.

Very tired hotel trading on its location

Hotel has great location next to the Penn campus but there has obviously been little investment in the hotel in years. Rooms very tired. Little effort at making the experience a good one. I would not stay there again.

Overnight stay for a night on the town

We stayed overnight because we had a party to attend to in the city. We parked in the garage for 20.00 a day better than getting your car towed( ever seen parking wars). The front desk gave us a free upgrade to a king size bed. The room was spotless and even came with a computer in the room with free internet. The room was on the small side but for a one night stay it was great.

24 hours of fun

I came to Philadelphia to watch the Mets play the Phillies and at the same time, give my son a taste of one of the oldest cities in the country. I chose the Sheraton Philadelphia Univ. City Hotel because of its location (1 block from the subway), proximty to a small number of specialty bar/restauants, & general store. I especially chose this particular hotel because it would impress my 12yr old with a outdoor pool, indoor fitness center, HD TV and internet access. We are coming back because it most over all is affordable. Dad likes that most. Hey, I'm easy to please, heh heh heh !

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Take the train for a few stops and get off at City Hall. Walk to Chestnut Street and proceed to walk back to the hotel. It is one way to enjoy a few hours away from sight seeing and instead get some shopping done and a bite to eat.

Decent stay

Staff was very helpful with directions, recommendations for restaurants, etc. Overall a very nice place and a great locations - easy to get to train, trolley, bus, etc. We didn't realize that we would have to pay for parking ($20/night) - that wasn't on the website! Double beds were VERY uncomfortable for two people - sloping down in the center and we felt that we were sleeping on a hill. We each had to sleep in our own bed.

4th of July Anniversary

We visited the Philly area during the 4th of July wknd for our anniversary. The front desk staff was warm and friendly upon arrival. The room was just as the photos online appeared. We were satisfied with the quality of the mattress. The fitness center was above average and equipped with modern equipment. The pool unfortunately was rather small...and crowded. However, we would definitely visit the hotel again, when in the area.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

The hotel charges you to park. It's about 30 blocks from the hotel to the Liberty Bell/Penn's Landing area. Then you have to pay to park down there. A cab costs about $15 one way and the bus is available but takes a long time to get to that area.
