Nothing special
To be honest I was expecting something a little more classy. The hotel room was very banal, no charm at all. The bathroom was tiny and uncomfortable. The towels were rough and falling apart. The soaps, shampoo etc were nice. The view was ugly. The walls are tin, we could hear distinctly what the people in the next room were saying. On the plus side, we were in the middle of town, at a walking distance from the museum and nice restaurants. The room looked clean. Everything was functional. I thought the valet parking was expensive at first ($34) but because we did not need to take the car to go the museums and pay the parking there, it was ok. Overall we didn't stay much at the hotel, it is not an hotel where it is particularly pleasant to stay, and everything worked fine, we had a great trip visiting Philadelphia.

Short walk from hotel
I loved the Pure Fare restaurant. They serve healthy, tasty, gluten-free, vegetarian breakfast/lunch/dinner. It is fast, they have pastries, fresh juices, smoothies, oatmeal, quiches, salads, sandwiches. And it is on the way to the museums.

Great location!
In the middle of it all! Steps away to great restaurants, bars, and shops. Loved taking a stroll through the beautiful park a couple blocks away. The exterior of the hotel is beautiful. However the rooms themselves have a bit more of a modern feel than the lobby and mezzanine. It would be great if the antique feel carried over into the rooms. Our carpet was stained but over all the cleanliness was ok. Requested a roll away bed and it was right side up against the wall. I would have preferred it to be set up. Also, at check out the receptionist was about to charge me twice for the room. I had to tell her multiple times that my credit card had already been charged weeks ago. It would of been awful for me to head home and find a double charge on my card!

Nice hotel
The stuff was great. Location was good, but with kids too long to walk to historic places. Cute dining places around it.

Great location in Center City
Perfect for shopping Walnut Street and eating at the Rittenhouse Square restaurants' sidewalk cafes. The hotel is a little older but the rooms are comfortable. The Prime Rib restaurant at the hotel has excellent steaks and atmosphere, although it's a bit pricey. All in all a good place to stay.

exceptionally courteous staff
My room was clean, quiet, I got a good night's sleep, and the only thing that would have been better would have been a better mattress. I was on a king sized bed, fortunately by myself, because I had to find a section of the bed that wasn't caved in from thousands of other people lying in that spot. I found a good spot near the edge and stayed put. I unexpectedly needed to have my son stay one night so the roll away bed we ordered got tested as well. They really need to get some good mattresses. Fortunately my son was tired enough that he slept okay anyway, but for the money you pay to stay at such a place the mattresses need to be better. Otherwise, very good.
