Experience the famous birthplace of freedom, without wasting time in traffic, at the centrally located Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. With its skybridge to the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 72 meeting rooms, and impressive Grand Ballroom for events, business travelers have access to anything they could possibly want. The on-site Starbucks certainly doesn't hurt in the mornings, either. Guests staying for pleasure will find plenty in the classy environment of the Circ restaurant, comfy alfresco snacking on the 13 Terrace, or the taste of signature Chesapeake striped bass in 13 Restaurant. It doesn't have to be all about lazy days, however; the rowing machines at the Fitness Center and all-weather pool will make sure that visitors break a healthy sweat.
Key facts
  • 1,408 guestrooms
  • Fitness center
  • Indoor pool
  • Valet parking
  • Business Center
  • 8,547-square-feet of meeting space
  • 2 restaurants: 13 and Circ, with open-air terrace
  • On-site Starbucks cafe
  • High-speed Internet (fees may apply)
Neighborhood
Conveniently located in downtown Philly, with the Pennsylvania Convention Center just around the corner and the Liberty Bell only eight blocks away, the Marriott Downtown Hotel Philadelphia is ideally located in every way. SEPTA subway 13th street station is right across the street, as is the Reading Terminal Market, for the oldest consecutive running farmer's market in the nation (and where the Amish community comes to sell their produce). At night the city is all abuzz, with spectacular shows at the Forrest Theatre and plenty of excellent Center City restaurants in the hotel's direct vicinity.
Hints and tips
Valet parking can be fairly expensive and the valet bay is usually quite busy, so if you need directions, get them before you slide behind the wheel, because staff will try to get you going as soon as possible to clear the lane.

Dinner-wise, walk two blocks from the hotel and you'll be in the city's Chinatown district - an essential stop for authentic dim sum and other Asian fare.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Really nice place

Great location and an overall great hotel. Rooms were really nice, the heating/cooling worked and was accurate and the bathroom was well lighted. The lobby was a meeting place and people actually hung out in the lobby...it was almost like a family room in your home. I will DEFINITELY stay here again.

No issues

Maid service a bit less flexible than other hotels. I was in the room for about 1 hr. at lunchtime, when thge Maid came. I put up do not disturb during this time. Maid did not return to clean room later that day. Nice, spacious bathroom.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Reading Market has tons of restaurants with lots of unhealthy, but tasty food. Thoroughly explore the area for the healthy food options that are there.

Close to all the sights in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Trolley Works was stationed right on hotel site and this is a great way to get your bearings and see the city sights efficiently. Be sure to add the Philadelphia Pass to your trip package as this is a cheaper way to visit different houses, museums and rides. The concierge was most knowledgeable and very helpful in making plans on what to see first. We did have to keep asking for additional towels as there were 3 of us and they kept leaving enough for 2 people. The room looked over another roof top but we were there to see the sights in Philadelphia and this did not bother us. There were enough elevators to accommodate large crowds. The airline reservations worked perfectly with no delays! Great trip!!

Comfy Bed

This hotel is centrally located in Philadelphia. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. I would highly recommend it if not for the front desk staff who were rude and unhelpful on 2 occasions. I could not help but think I got treated differently than customers that did not book online.

Cavernous Business Hotel

The hotel is perfectly adequate and provides all expected amenities but I did not love the neighborhood. Once all of the neighboring shops close the surrounding streets can get a little seedy. Otherwise, the hotel is centrally located and walking to most points of interests is quite easy.

Great location, good price.

Went there for a seminar and got a better price than at the advised hotel close-by (by the seminar organizers) and in my opinion better accommodations. Spacious room too.

Tequila's restaurant @ 16th & Locust, if you enjoy mexican food, has been the best for the past 23 years that I've been a customer. Short walk from the hotel. Many other good restaurants very close by.
