Excellent Trip

We traveled to Philadelphia with our 3 young children and from the moment we arrived the hotel was very accommodating. We travel with food and needed a refrigerator, when we realized we needed a second one, we had it up to the room and set up 3 minutes later. We also needed a crib which was set up right away. The service was quick and everything was done with a smile. The location was great. We were able to walk to all the historic sites Philadelphia and know that at the end of the day we didn't have far to walk home. The kids then enjoyed cooling off in the pool once we did get back.

Rooms and hallways need updating;

Rooms and hallways need updating. The hallways look well worn and so do the room fixtures from the faucets to the old tube TV. Rooms were clean and the location is great.

No issues

Maid service a bit less flexible than other hotels. I was in the room for about 1 hr. at lunchtime, when thge Maid came. I put up do not disturb during this time. Maid did not return to clean room later that day. Nice, spacious bathroom.

Reading Market has tons of restaurants with lots of unhealthy, but tasty food. Thoroughly explore the area for the healthy food options that are there.

Great location, good price.

Went there for a seminar and got a better price than at the advised hotel close-by (by the seminar organizers) and in my opinion better accommodations. Spacious room too.

Tequila's restaurant @ 16th & Locust, if you enjoy mexican food, has been the best for the past 23 years that I've been a customer. Short walk from the hotel. Many other good restaurants very close by.

Philadelphia Experience

Downtown Marriott is a great central location. Trains and subway within walking distance. Rooms were nice, our maid was excellent (kid friendly), staff was friendly, and 1st floor is beautiful. Their restaurant "13" is ok, their prices are better during sporting events. However, a little online research will show a lot of better priced restaurants within walking distance. Overall, our package deal made this great hotel affordable. Highly recommended.

Lots of neat restaurants and shops within walking distance. Do some online research and take a walk around the hotel. Also, the nearby mall and Macy's close earlier than I expected.

Lots of good shopping on Chestnut and Walnut streets between 13th and 19th streets. Old town, south off Market a good area to visit during the day. Macy's only a block away.
