Built in the 1920s, Kimpton Palomar Hotel Philadelphia is a boutique hotel overflowing with quirky touches. The building is strikingly Art Deco, inside and out, with multicolored busts lining the lobby and modernist wall-art. Happy hours don’t come much more sophisticated than the hotel’s 'hosted wine hour,' where guests can refine their palates and make new friends. Dishes like truffle popcorn and beer-braised mussels at SQUARE 1682 are too unique not to be sampled. Make use of the in-room yoga mat for a private exercise routine, or take out one of the hotel's free bikes to get around town. You can always make time to chill on your bed later, with a massage and body treatment service that comes straight to you.

Great hotel & location

We visited Philly for a romantic weekend, and the Palomar couldn't have been better. Great location, walking distance to great restaurants and shopping. The bar at the restaurant was fun and lively, but not loud and obnoxious. We didn't have dinner at the hotel restaurant (Square 1682) but brunch there was fantastic. Would definitely come here again. As a final note, we arrived on a slow weekend, so our room was upgraded and were able to check-in super early. The staff couldn't be friendlier.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Definitely try Square 1682, but for a luxurious dining experience dine at 10 Arts, Eric Ripert's bistro at the Ritz-Carlton, just a short walk away.

!st time at a Kimpon Hotel

The Hotel was smart & sophisticated, yet seemed easy for a family as well. The staff was excellent & attentive. The location was superb, everything was within walking distance & what wasn't was a short cab ride away. The fact that it was pet friendly was a bonus & the hotel & rooms did not reflect that at all.

fantastic couple getaway

the hotel was in a perfect location for us , since it was our first time going to philly.. we could walk ,take subway, catch a taxi.. all within a short distance.. the staff, was some of the nicest people we have ever met as far as hotels.. we got to see the history of the town, enjoy some great places to eat.. and shopping was fun.. this was the first time in a very long time, that my husband and i were able to get away .. and just be adult and a couple again.. we would go back to the polomar hotel in a heart beat and bring out daughter this time... thank you sooo much for such a treat.. debbie lett

Excellent experience

The service was very good. The room is very nicely decorated/designed. The room was emaculate. The only negative was that there were a limited number of television channels.

Great location

Great location by Rittenhouse square and cool trendy decor. Bar downstairs is good. Staff very friendly. My room had an adjoining door and everything could be heard, a little too noisy for my liking.

Great spot

Friendly staff. Comfy, clean and stylish but not particularly spacious room. Great location near Rittenhouse Square, Chestnut Street and lots of shops and restaurants. Lost a star because cleaning staff were very noisy in the morning and in the evening (yelling "turn down service" down the hall as if it were "bring out your dead") and because the hotel restaurant wasn't great (room service didn't pick up and at breakfast the eggs were not properly cooked and the bacon strangely cardboardish).

Great restaurant around the corner -- Alma de Cuba. I tried the hotel restaurant one night and found the two items I ordered to look and taste like something that was in a amateur chef competition.
