Excellent Hip Lodging

The Monaco is just a cool place to hang out. The staff are informal, but always very professional and on top of whatever you need. Our room was smallish, but quite nice and well-appointed. The restaurant downstairs is reasonable and the rooftop bar is "THE" place to hang out. Get a room overlooking Independence Hall. The hotel is dog friendly and you can even arrange a dog walker.

Great location, high quality

This hotel has a great location, next to Independence Hall. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The rooms are very nice and have been recently remodeled. The rooftop bar is not to be missed. It is a little pricey, but a very nice hotel.

Walk to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall

Wonderful staff, very nicely redecorated. The attached restaurant, The Red Owl was good but fully priced. Rooftop bar offers a very urban chic feel, definitely a much younger crowd.. One complaint is the lack of sufficient seating. Our room contained only one chair, a second chair would have been helpful. Overall, a nice place to stay

Wonderful Weekend

We stayed in the city to see the sights and visit the museums. The staff (especially the doormen) at the hotel were very nice. We were within walking distance or a short walk away from most of our activities. The beds were somewhat comfortable. I would stay here again.

A gem of an experience

What a gem! The decor, the atmosphere, the wine gatherings (and Opening Day for the Philadelphia Phillies brought beer, cracker jacks, and soft pretzels as well) were the icing on the cake. The hotel staff was professional and warm ... A special call out to T who found me juggling shopping bags and an umbrella and coffee and rushed over to lend a hand and a smile! The room was spacious with a great view of The Liberty Bell, and had outlets galore. Many thanks for a great visit!

Nice hotel but they forgot to clean our room

Would have loved the hotel. It had a good restaurant. The room was quiet. The bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was great. Free champagne hour. Dog friendly. Great location! However, they definitely didn't clean much, if any, of our room. The sheets looked clean and the bed well made, but the bathroom counter and the inside of the sink itself, had hair and dirt. The night stands also had noticeable crumbs and glass rings. The housekeeping manager apologized and offered us a different room. I chose this hotel because it's supposed to be one of the nicest in Philadelphia, so I was confident that I'd get a clean room. I was disappointed and surprised, and never quiet comfortable after seeing such poor housekeeping.
