Went to Philly to celebrate a child's first birthday. My only disappointment with the hotel staff was that the front desk ... staff forgot to tell me that when using the elevator to go above the 4th floor you needed to insert your room card into a slot below the floor numbers. Lots to do in Philly, whether it's visiting Independence Place, Olde City, or just hanging around Penn's Landing.

Great location, good value
Gaffer Sep 14, 2009
The Hyatt Penns Landing Philly is conveniently located on the waterfront near Society Hill and Old City sections of town, ... right off 1-95. It's an easy walk to the historic locations in Philly. I had a king suite on the corner with great views of the city. Downsides: no blower vent in the bathroom, and a noisy group partying into the night marred what was otherwise a great hotel experience. Staff is friendly and cheerful. Highly recommend.

Not bad
Romantic Sep 13, 2009
Generally nice. A little skimpy on towels (hand towels, especially), but the bathroom had no racks to hang them on anyway, ... so there you have it. We requested Housekeeping while we were out to breakfast (late morning!), they said "we will send them right up," but they were still no-shows hours later! The television was NOT up to industry standards: large, flat-screen, yes, but analog signal only, no on-screen program guide, no channel guide available, and lousy picture-quality. We would have ordered a movie, but I didn't want to pay $15 to watch it at such low quality. Food only okay, but bar was very friendly and the drinks were great. We had a wonderful view. I had requested a King bed and a river view and, despite being full, they gave us BOTH! Take the Lady Liberty Shuttle - easy, fast, cheap!

The location is wonderful, very close to historical sites, on the river for walks along the river, close to highways for ... coming and going, really very excellent. Plus, we had a view from our room of part of the river and part of the city, which was wonderful in daylight and at night. Our room looked new and had every convenience one would expect.

The restaurant, although nice, is expensive ($40 for for two for breakfast), one would probably do better to eat outside the hotel.

Museums and galleries are usually closed on Mondays in Philly, so all we did was shop and eat that day. Had a good lunch at Honey's in Northern Liberties section. The menu has a lot and there's something for every diet.
