Great Location from Greyhound Bus Stop

I needed a quick hotel that was located in downtown Philadelphia near the Greyhound bus stop of Filbert Street. This was a nice hotel with great customer service. The rooms were average but Holiday Inn is always a nice chain hotel to stay at. Overall, great experience.

Unbeatable location, awful night's sleep

Incredibly noisy mechanical work made for an awful night's sleep. Hotel engineering team dealing with some kind of mechanical problem created an ungodly racket that me & my family from sleeping. I called front desk to complain and each time I complained the noise stopped (so clearly they knew what they were doing) for about an hour (perhaps hoping we'd be deep sleepers), before starting up again. Then I would call to complain & the noise would stop again...but only for an hour or so. Why this couldn't wait until daytime is beyond me. Staff said they couldn't move us because hotel was sold out and they couldn't compensate us because room hadn't been booked directly with hotel.

SIngle traveler visiting friends

I was in philadelphia to see some friends during a long weekend, and since they all had to work, I chose to stay in Old City. The Holiday Inn was right aorund the corner from the Liberty Bell, Independence Plaza, Constitution Hall and the African American Heritage Museum. The rooftop pool was very clean and good size. The rooms are a bit small, but can't complain for Old CIty. Great stay and I'll be back!

Perfect weekend getaway

The hotel is in the perfect location. It's in the middle of a lot of landmarks. No matter what direction you walk in there is something to see. It is also great that the pool closes at 10pm. After a full day of sight seeing it was great to cool down and unwind in the pool. We would definetely stay there again.

Good city trip

The rooms were very clean though not particularly spacious. The breakfast is NOT worth $16, go to one of the many local restaurants instead (we liked Fork:etc on Market St). It's a city hotel so parking is not complimentary and pricey too. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I left something behind, the night manager found it for me and shipped it to my house. He called me within 15 mins of my call to say he'd found it. Great place to be to get to the mint, liberty bell etc before the crowds. If you aren't one of the first there the lines do get long. Big Bus Co run a great hop on hop off service that we used often and works well to get everywhere else.

Fork:etc on Market St for breakfast and lunch - fresh baked things, interesting salads/sandwiches. Triumph brew pub on Chestnut St has fabulous beers and great food.

Perfect Location

I had a great stay here. It was nice to walk right out of the hotel and be in the heart of the Old City. Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross's house all just a couple of blocks away. As well as the very convenient PHLASH Shuttle which runs right thru the heart of Center City and up to the Incredible Art museums (DO NOT MISS THE BARNES)

Good location

Convenient and clean hotel in walking distance from the historic center. The hotel is nice for families and anyone who is not planning on spending any time in the hotel. The amenities are quite basic, and if the prices are high, I would look elsewhere. The lobby/bar area is very unwelcoming and unattractive. I wouldn't normally care about a hotel bar, but if you are travelling with a group who wishes to visit or relax in the lobby, this is definitely not your place. There is also a pool on the roof-top. Like most hotels, the pool is very basic and was filled with kids.
