Visiting a Friend/ Exploring the City

Great location. right next door to the Reading Terminal Market. The only thing I wasn't happy about was the parking situation. There was an accessible garage, however it was a bit pricey. I think the hotel should offer some type of discounted parking for hotel guests. But I guess its because the garage is privately owned. Anyways the hotel was cool, no major complaints.

good location at good price

Very close to all the historical sites, right next to Reading Terminal, a block to the $2 trolley that takes you out to river and to art museums, next to China town with excellent food, very good value, very friendly staff who say hello in the halls, nice lobby with a gas fire and plenty of chairs, sofa and little tables for eating. Parking was easy, and it was easy to find from I-95 and Franklin Bridge. The bed was extremely comfortable with a nice comforter and pillows. Quiet too.

Great Hotel - But

Beautiful hotel, outstanding staff, but one problem. The weekend I was there they obviously had to fill the rooms with discounted rates. How else to explain the young clientele that filled the hallways? This isn't necessarily a bad thing except that on Sunday morning the eighth floor corridor looked like a frat house on Monday morning - a banana peel, papers, even, I'm afraid, vomit. It is a shame that hotel as superlative as this one truly is has to take in guests that treat the hotel so disrespectfully.

Not worth the price

The room was fine, but not worth the price. The last time I stayed neared the airport and the room was just as good and less money. At the airport parking was $7.00, here it was $31.00. There was rust around the drainage in the tub. I had to call the frond desk for room service. The two numbers and the button went to voice mail.

"Clean and comfortable but overpriced"

I was attending a national convention. The hotel was close to the convention center. The room was clean and comfortable. [...]When I asked for a receipt at check out, the receptionist refused to give me a receipt saying that because I booked through a third party, I don't get a receipt!!! Another receptionist also refused to give me points for my Hilton Honors account for my stay also because I booked through a third-party!!!

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel is very close to the "Gallery at East Station." Although by no means a "Gallery," you can shop at some department stores and fast food restaurants. Watch out, however, because the area is not very friendly, and everything closes around 7 or 8 p.m. because it's a tough downtown.

Great location!

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn during my first trip to Philadelphia. The hotel was wonderful; very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful view of the city from my room, decent jacuzzi, food and bar, and the location was within walking distance from everything. It was an extra treat to have the marketplace next door. If I visit Philadelphia again I would probably stay in the same hotel. The only drawback was the price was a touch expensive, but all the hotels are in that area. Parking was also a bit difficult and cost about $20 extra.
