Marathon weekend in Philly

The location of this hotel could not be any better. Right across the street from Reading Terminal Market and the Convention Center, and within walking distance of public transportation to anywhere else you might need to go. My wife and I stayed here for a half-marathon event in Philadelphia and were incredibly pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort and cleanliness of the room. While compared to the expensive hotels nearby (easily $100 more a night than this one) this hotel might be a 3 star, it is an exceptional value and way better than many other 3 stars and 4 stars I have stayed in.

Army/Navy Game

The hotel staff was excellent. The bar was cozy and a great place for a night cap. It was in a good location and walking distance to the train. Also the market place for food was really close.

Good value & location for the price

The hotel building is on the corner of Race and North 12th St., with the entrance on the latter. It's not very obviously marked and I drove past it once without noticing while trying to find it. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The only issue I has was that the body wash dispenser in the shower stall was empty when I got there. Valet parking was reasonable but if I were staying for more than one night I might've looked for cheaper parking elsewhere.

affordable and pleasant stay

I attended a professional conference, while I was there. My stay would be more enjoyable, if there was no noise. My room located next to cleaning supply room and elevator. Therefore, I head noises most of the time. Compare to previous trips, I enjoyed staying at this hotel for its clean environment.

Nice rooms, thin walls/floors

The hotel looks and feels brand new. While that makes for a nice room, it also makes for a noisy one. The problem is, like most new construction, everything is way thin - the walls, the ceiling and especially the floors. I could hear the squeaky footsteps of our neighbor at 3am when he/she came in because the floor is all connected. Also, my suggestion would be to ask not to be placed in the rooms across from the elevators. The elevator noise also permeates the room. The location is pretty good and, as I said before, the rooms are really nice (great bed, bathroom, TV, etc.) But if you have anybody else on your floor, especially somebody in the room next to you, you may not be able to truly relax.

Better then I expected!

The room was nice. But no refrigerator and charges 10.00 for microwave rental. Also they charge 50.00 for incidentals per day and locked up 100.00 of my cash when I wanted to pay cash.

Good for one day but hat's it

Pros: Closeness to China town Cons: Everything else I was on a one night trip so the hotel wasn't bad for that but I don't recommend staying any longer. The front desk clerk was nice but it was obvious the hotel was short staffed. Anything over the basic room is extra. There's zero perks of any kind and the room is absolutely no frills except for an hd tv which only had 27 channels. Not worth the time it took to turn on and get past the promo/commercial screen. To boot the room was tinier than some efficiency apartments I've been in. Not for families at all. My biggest complaint is that I was woken up by the maintenance crew at 7am. I might have been understanding if it had been a weekday but it was Saturday. I don't really recommend this hotel unless you're not planning on spending any time in your room.

Great trip

We had a great time in Philadelphia, markets were right around to corner and everything was very easy to get to. The valet was a little slow for my liking. Overall a good stay at the hotel.
