Was quite surprised

Visited family for the thanksgiving holiday.. First room the tv volume did not work. They moved me to a new room. They put a $50 hold on your credit card.. It was suppose to be released yesterday!! Has not yet.. Would have given cash instead if that was an option!!

Travelodge Phildelphi

Nice place, nice people, had to park two blocks down and pay $15, did not have a microwave, did not have a fridge, did not have an iron/ ironing board (all things I needed/ could have really used). Other than that great service and right in the heart of center city, next to Hahnemann hospital, which is what I needed most importantly.

What a horrible hotel!

Do not stay at this hotel! There are no other reviews that tell you it's next to a mens homeless shelter! The hotel itself was not great. The rooms are tiny and have no windows! We requested a microwave and they gave us a refrigerator instead! There is no parking we had to pay $15 a day and you have to walk through a dirty alley to get to the parking lot. They have no valet parking either so it can be scary with all the homeless people everywhere. DO NOT STAY HERE! [...]

Clean, courteous

While our hotel room was literally right inside the hotel entrance, between the front door and the front desk, the room was spacious enough, clean, and modern. Outside the hotel was a little trashy, but that's not really Travelodge's fault. The continental breakfast was a tasty (bagels, croissants, small cereal selection, and muffins). Overall very good. We found nearby parking for $5 per day(!) which is unheard of in the city. The parking the hotel recommended was $15/day, so we were happy to find that on our own. The staff was courteous. Not much else to say. It was a positive experience.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Check the nearby area for parking prices before using the hotel's recommended parking spot. The hotel's parking coupon was for $15/day valet (meaning you can't just go to your car). We found a parking garage across from the Drexel building on 15th St. and Spring St. which had a $5/day special. Parking for our entire weekend on ran us $10!

Close to Chinatown

My room was "non smoking" yet I could smell the smoke coming from my neighbors room.

Great overnight stay

We spent a weeknight in the hotel just to get away and see the city. It was nothing special if you are looking for a place to knock your socks off, but it was definitely exactly what was needed. The staff was great, we came in very early int he day and as soon as the rooms were cleaned they let us check in so we didn't have to lug our things around. The room was the perfect temperature, very clean. Nothing big but had the necessities. We were able to have a room without side windows which was a plus (some rooms only have windows into the hallways. It ws a fabulous location, easy to get down to Penns Landing and South street and walking distance from Old City Philly, the lIberty Bell and the parks. There was some convention center construction going on but the noise was not an issue.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

The Suare Burger in Franklin park is about 5 blocks and great for a lunch and the subway station is about two blocks away with a quick trip to South Street for great food, shopping and nightlife. Very managable location for anything you're looking to see.

Do not recommend to stay there

The location is good, close to downtown, but it seems like it is not safe there. The worst thing is that there is no window in my room, so i have to turn on the light during the day. Also, the carpet is very old and dirty. And there are some smell in the room.
