Clean and Friendly
I thought the hotel was very clean and in a great location. Would highly recommend. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, but pricey for a family of five. Try to get your breakfast added to the hotel stay. Indoor pool was very small but room and hotel was very roomy.

Collateral Damages
I was in town for 2 days to attend an event at Temple University. This hotel was in downtown so I thought it would be a great location. However what I did not know was that this hotel charged (hold your breath) $45 for vallet parking!!!! And if you need to park on your own, the nearest parking garage will cost you $33 for overnight. I was mad at the hotel [...]s for not sharing this critical information with me. Further what infuriated me was that the elevators had notices saying "Join us for breakfast buffet". Turned out they charged me $18 for buffet. The eggs were dry, the omellette line was too long and I ended up paying all that money just for Kelloggs cornflakes. I am mad as can be. Another problem was that the mattress was memory foam and that was not my type.

Awesome location & rooms, but lacked ...
Room size was something like 400sq ft! For a downtown hotel that was huge!!! Location was perfect, easy access to Chinatown, Independence Hall, Penn's Landing, really everything we wanted to do! Restaurant was good, but nothing exceptional. Everything was really great, but it lacked the amenities we really like such as a conceirge, room service, and a real swimming pool (there's was short and only 3' deep). BE AWARE: Apparently, Marriotts have a very strict no smoking policy. We got popped for a $250 cleaning fee for just one late night smoke in the bathroom.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
If going to a show in Camden, take the $8 cab ride to Penn's Landing and take the Riverlink across to the event center. Way easier than driving to and from the venue.

Great Weekend
I wanted a safe and clean hotel in downtown Philadelphia. The Courtyard by Marriott was much more than I had expected. The staff was very available and extremely helpful. I attended the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival. Commuting to the festival was easy. All I had to do was cross the street from the Courtyard and take the train; then connect to a bus which was also conveniently located. I was able to get shopping done on Market Street. The thing that impressed me most was how clean Philadelphia is. I loved the architecture, the downtown buildings around Market Street are awesome. I also liked the wide sidewalks; no congestion. It was the best three-day vacation in a city that I've had in a long time. Everyone needs to stay at the Courtyard and visit Philadelphia at least once a year.

Not so Great
we went to main Marriott for pop warner event and convention center. Breakfast should be included. parking should be reduced. shuttle to and from airport. something for kids(activities) maps of suggested places to go...Shuttle around downtown area for guest to say on all the parking...willing to pay a fee for daily stay. Ask customer how they want to pay for parking before charging credit card.

Good Hotel
Great Hotel, in great location in Philadelphia. I would rather stay here than the Philadelphia Marriott or the Loews. The hotel is clean with great customer service. I went here with my wife and we were both satisfied. The valet parking is expensive. You're better off going across the street and to park the car yourself in the garage above Chili's restaurant. I left my car there the entire trip. Everything is a short walk away from this hotel.
